I am a little bit in love with Toni Redpath. I'm down with anyone who says in all seriousness, "I'm ready to start letting people go." Amen, sister. That group routine with Billy and Adechike was booty. Still it's not So You Think You Can Choreograph.
I think they gave Ida a really shitty edit. Tras bambalinas, I heard that she had told the judges before even going to Vegas that she wouldn't be able to stay the whole time. She was getting a Presidential medal for fine arts. You know, from the President? And they told her to come anyway. Now, I think a little bit of the reason she bounced was that she was struggling. But the whole tou took our free trip and now you change your mind that Nigel pulled was baloney.
Travis Wall!
I'm gonna tell you:
if they had a reality show for choreographers, I would watch that. Period.
So You Think You Can Choreograph would be amazing. Each week, the wannabe choregraphers could be given a dance style and a couple of dancers who specialize in that style, a piece of music and then . . . Make it hot! I'd want Tasty to go on the show just so he could be the first one cut.
I would also watch at least a few episodes of the Kent 'n Lil C show because awwwwwww. They were just so cute.
TCM - I kinda tuned Marcus out early on too. The last several episodes I really liked him, though. Maybe the last episode, where he bonded with Jonathan, more than this one even. And I'm glad he won in part by sticking to his guns on his main dish culturally. Plus, I hate that Saveur guy so much I was glad to see his two choices lose out. Granted, I don't think much better of the British critic either - I'm mostly about the Ga(e or i)ls. And what the hell happened to Gael Greene, anyway?
so he could be the first one cut
damn. that's mean, but it made me laugh.
Ugh. Nigel cannot make me like this cheerleader. No. I think I'm destined to dislike all SYTYCD Laurens on general principle. I hated her smiley solo to At Last. So cheesy. Bleagh.
I'm surprised about Anthony. Thrilled about The Wapokeneta Kid. He's gonna be a good time.
I was stunned about Anthony. I wonder what the reasoning was.
Art Show:
so, I am so disgusted by the judges decision in who they sent home that I'm out. I'm not watching this show anymore. I get that art is in the eye of the beholder, but you are going to excuse someone who admittedly used strong technique - but perhaps didn't exactly address the challenge over someone who put something forward that literally looks like something *I* could have done? And my artistic skills rival that of your average 7 year old.
Beautiful/ugly who gives a shit, but caveman painting techniques should get someone booted.
I kind of already love Jose. I don't know how long he will last, but I love him.
[delurking because I must discuss SYTYCD]
I was disappointed about Anthony, too. I thought he was a beautiful dancer -- so powerful. Anthony, Alex, and Billy would have been a trifecta of awesomeness.
I have no opinions on the top five women. Frankly, they all look the same to me until the competition gets going. They don't really develop personalities until they're dancing someone else's choreography and working with a partner.
Did anyone else hate hate hate the whole "going to the contestants' houses to break the news" thing?
