Ugh. Nigel cannot make me like this cheerleader. No. I think I'm destined to dislike all SYTYCD Laurens on general principle. I hated her smiley solo to At Last. So cheesy. Bleagh.
I'm surprised about Anthony. Thrilled about The Wapokeneta Kid. He's gonna be a good time.
I was stunned about Anthony. I wonder what the reasoning was.
Art Show:
so, I am so disgusted by the judges decision in who they sent home that I'm out. I'm not watching this show anymore. I get that art is in the eye of the beholder, but you are going to excuse someone who admittedly used strong technique - but perhaps didn't exactly address the challenge over someone who put something forward that literally looks like something *I* could have done? And my artistic skills rival that of your average 7 year old.
Beautiful/ugly who gives a shit, but caveman painting techniques should get someone booted.
I kind of already love Jose. I don't know how long he will last, but I love him.
[delurking because I must discuss SYTYCD]
I was disappointed about Anthony, too. I thought he was a beautiful dancer -- so powerful. Anthony, Alex, and Billy would have been a trifecta of awesomeness.
I have no opinions on the top five women. Frankly, they all look the same to me until the competition gets going. They don't really develop personalities until they're dancing someone else's choreography and working with a partner.
Did anyone else hate hate hate the whole "going to the contestants' houses to break the news" thing?
The only thing I can think about Anthony is that there were some concerns about the injury. The season is so grueling for the kids. Look at how many of them went down last year. And this year, the choreo will probably be even more demanding because each week, the kids will be paired up with an all star who can turn it out. Better to have all top 10 at 100% and let Anthony get healthy and come back next season. At least, that's the story in my head.

So much!
I hope you're right, Kat.

So much so that I FF through it all. It was terrible, and I hated the fakeouts also.
I, too, hated the home visits. Ptui. Let us never speak of them again. I also really dislike bending the rules for the boys and not the girls. I would've been pissed to not get my Billy Bell, don't get me wrong, but if I were girl #11, I'd be furious right about now. I also think this could play badly for Billy with voters if they perceive that he got on the show unfairly.
All that aside, the boys roster is stacked. Alex, Billy, Adechike, Kent, and Robert (gorgeous dancer even though we didn't see much of him). What? That's divine. And you have this season's Legacy, total cutie with the possibility for a growth arc. For the girls, I still only get a feeling from Alexie. The tap dance girl was super cute with her mentor, but tappers have a very checkered past on this show. Ashley looks like she might be interesting, but I haven't seen enough of her. The salsa girl is no Janette. I'm just saying. I hate Lauren. And that's it.
I wish there was at least one hip hop kid, boy or girl. Wish there was one true ballroom kid, boy or girl. Wish they'd let that black girl from Miami be the 11th girl because I always want to see more diversity on the show. Or maybe that they hadn't cut Kadijah, even though she got the bitch edit during the group routine, because we've never had an African dance specialist on the show.
Still, got my Billy and my Alex. Got the adorable Wapokaneta Kid. So, I'm straight.
Tomorrow, I get to see Mark. Aw, yeah.
