Yeah, they can't seem to settle on a host/head judge, which doesn't do them any favors.
I think that the problem is that there aren't a lot of well known hair "stars" who would do a show.

I did enjoy watching the auditions for SYTYCD for this fall (I missed them for S5). If I had skipped them, I would have missed the New Orleans Bounce dancer, who was a blast to watch.

SYTYCD auditions have a much lower proportion of totally embarrassing people. (Though they are not immune to the phenomenon, of course, like blue tights guy in Boston.) They have more of the "really good at what they do but would never be able to foxtrot." There's not an equivalent for singers I guess.

I will probably stop watching the auditions. They have started spending too much time on the judges and their comments during the dance. I almost wouldn't mind hearing them as a voice over, but I don't need to see them.
