I kind of want to draw little hearts around Travis, too.
I like how Mary is into everyone, but really does care more about ballroom -- the ballroom routines and the ballroom people.

Oh, and I meant to say how I have always loved Ellenore.
Also, I wish the parents of most of these dancers knew how to spell. I mean, I wish they used conventional spelling.
I adore Ellenore. She's sassy and cute and really talented. Very game, too, for whatever she's asked to do.
Lots of good shirtlessness tonight. They're probably saving Ryan for when he really sucks. (like the next time he has to do hip hop)
OK, NappyTab are the only hip hop choreographers who these two could've been paired with. That said, Jesse nailed it when she said warmed over Marksie. And I'm sorry, but Mia Michaels owns that Imogen Heap song. Her S3 group routine for the top 6 to Hide and Seek just killed. Big no, no, NappyTab. Do not bite off of Mia. I thought both Jakob and the Fug Princess did well in that routine, although towards the end, they got a little too overexaggerated, a little cartoonish. Oh, and that wasn't hip hop, but it's NappyTab, so we knew that.
Kevin and Karen's broadway was just lacking. Everything needed to be bigger, broader, more played to reach the very last row in the rafters. The steps were mostly correct, although I see what the judges were saying about Kevin's shoulders, but they completely missed the performance quality. They needed to overexaggerate here (as opposed to the last couple) and really sell both the steps and the feel of the dance and they just didn't. And it was great, authentic, old school broadway choreo. I like this new guy quite a bit. He did Sweet Charity, but I didn't feel that it was warmed over Fosse. Much, much better than Tasty.
Russell getting Foxtrot again is some bullshit. They managed to pull it off with style and that lovely pirouette Russell busted out? Toma! I love that kid. Noelle was quite nice as well, some very lovely lines and great legs on that girl. They lacked a little in some of the closed hold, rise and fall could have been better, but overall, they were great. Then again, I thought Russell was great the first time he danced this with Melanie and he hit B3. So, who knows?
Wow, so I enjoyed that Channing/Victor piece a lot more than the judges did. I see what they are saying about Victor (good but not great) and I think they're right that he (well both of them, really) needs to step it up to really break into the elite Russell/Jakob/maybe Legacy (haven't seen his Paso yet) level. But the fact remains that he and Channing danced the hell out of that piece, and Tasty put his foot in that choreography. The movement was so evocative and interesting. Their leaps and jumps were crazy synchronized and so clean and beautiful. It was the first time I've ever felt any kind of connection between those two. And Victor's little star moment at the end of the piece after Channing went back into the cage was literally a star turn. So whatever, judges. That piece was great. So far, by far, the best of the night.
kat, you know that Heap song is part of a new hip hop song (which is what they danced to). It is sampled repeatedly in this new song. I heard it on the radio and did a double take.
I couldn't believe Russell got the foxtrot again. Do you think they want to get rid of his partner?
I think Kevin is a goner. I wish Mollee would be a goner, because despite the judges praise, she was one of the worst women. Period. That was not good.
Okay, the whole judges in love with Asleigh thing is way beyond me. I recognize Jakob as a good dancer but I haven't connected with either of them in any of their dances.
I love Jakob more than kids love cake. He is just an exquisite dancer. He wasn't great in this hip hop but I didn't expect him to be because . . . well, because I have eyes and I saw him in that Dave Scott piece last week and it wasn't pretty. The Fug Princess was better than she's ever been in this piece, but then again, she hasn't been all that great. Just not being a distraction in a piece is not a good thing.
I just can't even talk about Legacy and Kathryn's Paso yet. No words. I know it wasn't technically perfect, but I so did not care. Totally captivated by that piece. So, yeah. I have a new best of the night. Kathryn was amazing. She murdered that piece. And I will happily take some shirtless Legacy every week now because DAMN!
