I haven't seen Salon Takeover yet, but I'm already in love with that line.
Also in love with Jakob, but that's a given. He was gorgeous in that Mandy Moore piece. I love it when Mandy uses props! All the stylized walks and the deep shoulder action. It was fun. And I'll be darned if the Fug Princess wasn't actually quite good tonight. I have to give her some credit. It's the first time she didn't completely disappear for me in a routine.
holy new choreographers.
Russell is adorable and reminds me of Busta which makes me laugh.
Was Jakob giving anyone Mark flashbacks tonight?

Totally.
Was Jakob giving anyone Mark flashbacks tonight?
Totally. Go back and watch Mark in Wade's Top 20 group dance or in Mia's group piece where Mark was the ringleader in the top hat. Very similar movement quality. Though for all that, I feel like Jakob is a much more finished dancer. Mark, although I adore him, sometimes had the dead fish feet. And he didn't have anywhere near Jakob's extension or flexibility. But they both give good quirk. And they both really inhabit the character of each dance.
God, I love Tabatha. I hated her when she was a contestant on whatever, but I really like her on her own show.
She rocks my socks.
I still hate Ashley, though. And want him to shave that weirdo molester 'stache he seems to be growing. WTF is up with that? The pencil thin stache DOES NOT WORK, dude. No matter what hipsters might have you think!!
I actually liked Elanore better than Ryan in the hip hop, though the judges seemed to dislike them both equally (in a pitying sort of way).
And I agree that the hustle is evil and should die, along with disco. Though I wonder if anyone who actually knows how to do the hustle would say if there was any hustle actually IN there--it, like the discos, was just a bunch of tricks.
I did laugh at the idea that Mollie would be trying to be all sexy in that salsa. HAH!
I thought Ellenore did better than Ryan in that Lil C piece, but she could hardly do worse. Ryan was an absolute disaster in that routine.
I didn't mind the Hustle. Well, let's say I liked it better than disco. It wasn't as trick heavy and there seemed to be more actual dance content. That said, the routine was wholly forgettable. By the time the recap rolled around, I'd forgotten what Kevin and Karen danced. And Kevin was very tentative throughout that piece.
The other big train wreck of the night was obviously Mollee/Nathan. It was so bad I had to look away. They couldn't even do the opening walk. Bleagh. I so hope Mollee goes home, but I fear that the power of tweens hopped up on the Disney Channel may keep them from even hitting B3.
It was really bad. Mollee/Nathan was unbelievably bad. I was surprised how bad. I wasn't expecting it to be good, but she needs to go home.
Ellenore was definitely better, but still bad. I can't understand how they don't understand how important the end of the movement is in hip hop. Hitting hard is not just a state of mind. Ryan was really bad in it. It looked like a parody. Which is too bad, because I liked the choreography.
Hate Ashley. And she's going to coast on Jakob's coattails indefinitely. Break up the partnerships! I guess it could be worse.
Russell. Oh, Russell. I thought Noelle's movement wasn't atrocious, but she could have taken it farther. And her comment about how it's hard for them to be together because of the difference in their styles may be true, but it's more true that it's hard for them to be together because of the difference in their skill levels. But they pulled it off, and I loved the whole thing. But particularly, loved Russell.
