Even though I agree she's now out of her league, I was happy to see Robin get some props from the judges. And fucking Mike jumping in to try to take credit.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I love Restaurant Wars and thought that the teams were great. Now, if only we could solve the mystery of why the Blue Team imploded.
SYTYCD
This top 20 is half fabulous and half annoying. So many cute little black girls that I don't remember seeing at all before tonight. Oh, and losing the yellow shorts wearing ballet boy was baloney.
Seriously.
Other thoughts:
YAY CUTIEHEAD YOUNG GUY MADE IT (on SYTYCD)
RUSSELL!!!! You are SO pretty, and you will be on my TV screen! \\o/
And they are giving us femslash!
But it's annoying, giggly teen femslash. And the brown haired one? Noelle? Is just all kinds of no. You've been wanting this since you were three? To be on this show? That didn't exist when you were three? Right. I don't think I can take a season of those two. They sap my will to live. I might have to put Channing in that group if she continues to rock the black satin romper with black pumps. Why, god? Why? That outfit makes the baby Jesus cry.
I am insanely excited about Russell. And about Kevin Hunt. Cutieheads both.
I was happy with many of the choices on SYTYCD, but that's probably due to the fact that they didn't spend too much time on backstory for those who were cut. Loved the Phillip Attmore made it--we didn't see anything of him in Vegas, and I worried that I'd missed him being cut during the week.
And, Russell made it!! Love him soooo much already!
Mollie can go home first week. Even my mom, who's visiting and so was watching the tv with me but has never seen the show before, couldn't help but comment on the fact that she looks so young. Unless she can bring more maturity to the stage, so long, honey.
Top Chef - I would really, really, just once, like to see a RW with a woman in front of house that doesn't lose her mind and freak the fuck out. As soon as Laurine said she was running FoH, I knew it was gonna be her.
What Aims said.
I'm trying to remember who else has done front of the house aside from Radhika.
The longer I think about it, the more the fact that Jen and Kevin and Mike I. decided to do both of each course's dishes seems so ridiculously stupid. Kevin looked really baffled when Tom asked how it didn't occur to any of them that that was going to backfire.
It's a lot of pressure, and a role that I really wouldn't like to do, but for fuck's sake. Either recognize that you aren't the best person for that job which has always been somebody's downfall.
Granted, I haven't watched all of the season's but has anyone gone home from RW because of the food? I only remember the FoH people leaving.
