PR: I was pretty surprised by the boot, but am happy to see it happen. That guy just thought way too much of himself.

I thought that concept guy would stay, because usually bad execution is the kiss of death. Also they usually like a little of the crazy concept. His problem is that he didnt do the conceptual thing well.

Also, the other guy had that nightmare last time, so I thought that was another reason to let him go. I can't remember what concept guy did last week.

Because books.

Also, re TC, does anyone else find it weird that, if you win the quickfire challenge you get immunity and $15,000, but if you win the big challenge, you get nothing?

Yes, absolutely. It seems really unbalanced this year. Immunity used to be the big win, and now ... walking away early with $15K doesn't suck, you know?

I could have seen arguing it either way. I think it must have come down to how crazy and how poorly executed this concept was. I shudder to think how the panel would have reacted if they had known about the planned chicken thighs/jodhpurs.

I think that it came down to that the poorly executed outfit would have been great if it had been done well, but the concept idea was unsaveable.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Definitely. It should be one or the other.

I think that's exactly what saved Mitchell. But I'm not sure it was the right decision. For two weeks in a row, we've seen Mitchell have issues with construction on challenges that have been really pretty straightforward. Also, didn't they say on the show last night that Mitchell had previous experience doing maternity wear? I thought they did. And if that's the case, then the whole fiasco is head scratchingly inexcusable. And he's switched models for two weeks running. It's not the models. It's you and your crap ass construction. At the very least, Malvin was producing ugly clothes that were well made and he never sent his models down the runway nekkid or wearing pregnancy Daisy Dukes. Really?

ever since i saw his reply, i've been sitting on my hands so i DON'T say this. i'm waffling on whether or not to reply at all.

Ha ha ha. I would pay folding money to see that happen. I really didn't mind Nick on S1 of SYTYCD, and while clearly Blake was the better dancer, I wasn't upset that Nick won. But since the show he's been nothing but unpleasant. It's sad, frankly, because he really is a lovely dancer.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I'm fine with this, actually -- I think it's really driven people out of shooting for the middle, which has been a problem in the past, and leads to heartbreak and Ilan.

I don't disgree, but I'm just surprised they're clearing out the crazy early. Usually they leave the crazy around for a while. But then, Bird Boy was a boring sort of crazy, so that probably didn't help. Suspect Mitchell's gone soon, as no one's left that sucks that much.

I do too. But on the runway he said that he'd never sewn a pregnancy band before. I don't get it. It seems to me that you just pin the fabric in pleats, then sew it onto the band, but maybe I'm oversimplifying it. Also, I don't know why he made the shorts so large in the first place

I didn't notice they had switched. Is this being shown in the model show? Because I was kind of surprised that they did not have the whole "do you want to keep your model?" non-drama.

And, if so, has it really become a real model competition too (finally)?

I think that they did the model thing at the beginning of the model show last week (I didn't watch the models this week) but I could be wrong.
