Thrive to spite them

I thought that the Disco Soccer ball was...well maybe if it had a skirt and no hoodie it could be MTV Awards or something. It wasn't horrible, just out there.

I have a question about the Smock Dress turned Nightie -- was the material he used for the top different because it looked like the same sheer stuff and that was really sheer. Unless the smocking would change or hide that. I'm not sure about High collar smocked dress for a red carpet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is this Shannon? [link]

Because books.

Yup!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I thought that was Mountaha!! I had one of those "Hey, was that--" moments during his runway. Speaking of which, I lovelovelove Chris's runway gown. Yes, it was over the top, but man, did it work!

I'm not a fan of Sweet P's style, I guess, because all of those gowns left me feeling really "meh."

My two favorite looks from the All-Star were Daniel's black-and-white gown and Korto's restaurant challenge dress, which was amazing. Really innovative, and the structure was perfect.

I'll have to rewatch PR:LA, because I don't remember anything from that show. But, I do think that Wacky Chick might have stuck around if it weren't for the show's experience with the first Wacky Chick from a few seasons back, the one who spit on the gown instead of using chalk to mark a hemline. They don't want to have to go through that again.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee. She imbued it with her essence!

I swear they deliberately cast Wacky Chicks and then are baffled when they behave erratically on the show. I wouldn't have minded seeing more of what she could do, though.

Especially since it seems from the previews that Nightie Boy runs into problems again next week. If he's just going to implode later, I don't know that I wouldn't rather see Wacky work.

Also, if the pressure is too much for the red dress guy on day one, I wonder how he'll be later on.

Because books.

I think it's funny that I've spotted Shannon in a couple of things, and have seen NOTHING of Heidi, the actual winner.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha. Well, we all knew she was going to work.

It's kinda like Kayla on SYTYCD. She's going to work regardless.

Sometimes not winning is the best thing that happens to you, because you're in the field and available when people are interested in you. Whereas the winners are swept off to do winner things, but by the time they're trying to book jobs themselves, they're off people's radar already.

I couldn't figure out why I had no memory at all of Heidi, but then I looked it up, and her name's Holly. I really thought I was losing it for a minute!

Yikes! See what happens when you don't see the winner around!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I liked Johnny's dress in motion, but not when the model was standing still. Irina's dress was my favorite.

I also liked the disco soccer ball dress - I think someone like Pink could pull it off for a VMA red carpet, and I wish they'd kept her around to see what else she can do. I wonder if she would have made it to the next round if she'd been able to verbalize her POV better.

But seriously, 90% of the middle of the crowd made cocktail dresses with basically identical silhouettes. YAWN.

(I like dramatic collars as much as the next person, but the cocktail-dress-with-random-crap-sewed-onto-the-boobs thing has got to GO.)
