Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I tried, I really did. It was just too much TV.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, Sundays are crazy right now. But I had the dual tuner Tivo from the start because that's the way the Directv one works. And I know they're not together anymore, so you can have mine when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

I forgot about Project Runway. I rely on you guys to remind me of stuff, because I cleared all my season passes over the summer when the family was here. I didn't want it to accidentally record something their lickle 'uns shouldn't be watching.

But now I forget what I had set and am restoring them one by one.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm annoyed every year when Top Chef changes the official name of the show, so I have to set a new pass for it, or whatever you call that on a non-Tivo. And I didn't even know what channel Lifetime is, so I had to search out PR, too! But I did learn there's some kind of special before the premiere and the new model show after. As you'll recall, "Models, this is also a competition for you as well."

Crap, that means I'll miss part of the reair of Leverage at 11.

For the first time, I'll actually be watching Leverage on time since I decided that, with the +15min, it made more sense to tape TC:LV and TCM in the middle of the night.

I'm just glad that SYTYCD has finished because Wednesdays have been killer, which is all the more frustrating since I have very few shows I watch. They're just all on the same night of late.

Is anyone else looking forward to Trinny and Susannah's new show?

Only for a few more weeks! September 2 is the "Best of" episode, and then it comes back for the sixth season on 9/9 (with Glee on the same night).

Well, I have no interest in Glee, but will it be on at 10, or are they going to actually keep the SYTYCD episodes to an hour?

I think the audition premiere is going to be an hour, allowing for the Glee premiere to follow. As to the rest of the season, I don't know how they're going to run them both--I'm guessing that Glee will move to a different night.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I finally saw this week's ABDC last night. I thought We Are Heroes killed it with their routine. I was worried because Single Ladies is so played out, but I really thought they did well. I also loved Vogue Evolution. I agree that the African dance moves were not quite on point, but they don't get choreographers to help them, so given that, they did well. And Miss Thing, Leomie, was once again FABulous. I was sad that Donyelle's group got kicked off, but I can see why. They really did underwhelm week one.

I am so excited for PR. Thursday can't come soon enough.

That's two weeks in a row that We Are Heroes just blew me away. Last week, they had that back lean that went on for.e.ver, and this week they nailed strobing. The Japanese woman who is the centerpiece of the group is mesmerizing to watch.
