You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

you might want to mention other courses that you've taken that you think could be comparable.

Er... comparable to calc 3 and differential equations? I haven't. I only took the courses necessary for the CS degree, which was up through calc 2 and linear algebra. I'd be perfectly happy to take more, except, well, TIME, and also, MONEY. And I do need the credit.

Actually, I could just scrap it and take computers in education instead, as I've already done the several week's worth of emailing and calling and visiting necessary to get into one math course, except that History of Math is the one I really want to take!

Anyway, I mostly need help with, like, how to start the email. Because I'm thinking maybe not, "Yo, professor lady! 'Sup with the prerequisites? Level with me here, I do not need calc three to learn about how many cultures knew the Pythagorean Theorem before the rise of Greece, right? Cut me some slack, Jack."

LJ is always good for a procrastination break. I'm amazed at the vitriol aimed at the fanfic writer who asked for donations to help her take time off to finish her WIP.

I was really confused by that post, Kat, as I thought perhaps (as I read it) "to help her take her tie off" meant I'd missed the stripping implications of the whole thing.

Also, the Hunger Site has a banner for a Rwandan Goat Kit. I was more intrigued when I thought it was a Random Goat Kit. Like, give us money, and tomorrow someone, somewhere in the world, wakes up with a goat outside the front door! Could be anybody!

Yeah, I don't get the rage. Just the bogglement. I'm all about the bogglement. How is it that some people manage to survive to adulthood without, you know, accidentally poisoning themselves with dish detergent?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Yesterday, one of the headlines on Yahoo said "IAEA to help in Iran Crisis" which I thought read "Ikea to help in Iran Crisis" and wondered what the hell they were going to do.

Nah, Emily. Time. Edited now.

I'm boggled too 'suela, mainly at the ballsy stupidity.

But the rage? Whoa. It's a totally effective shunning from fandom. But I can't just get invested emotionally to whip myself into a rage over this.

It makes me think about how the sense of anonymity allows people to act/react in ways they wouldn't IRL and how amazing that is.

I guess the moral is never underestimate the craxy of fandom.
