I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

When you are doing all the paperwork, they had a desk sized iPad called a Docupad, so you just signed off on things there and they email you the documents.

They had that when I got my Subaru Impreza in 2019. The sales guy would click a button to swivel the content around so it would be right side up for me to read and sign. They’d he’d swivel it back so he could read it to set up the next part. It felt very Star Trek-y in an “everything’s on a monitor” kinda way.

Laura, I’m glad the housing situation is looking good for your son.

BP~ma for Tim.

I’ve reached the, “Oh, god, no one is ever going to hire me and I’ve never actually had a marketable skill in my life,” stage of unemployment. Can’t say I love it.

Our wings are not tired.

That is a most stressful stage, Calli. Job~ma headed your way.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

{{{Calli}}} You are full of skills! The job market is extremely weird right now but you are a great hire

It is a very stressful time in the market Calli. I do not blame you one bit. (And do not believe you are unemployable!)

Thrive to spite them

Calli you are awesome! You will be hired!

Dana and PM thanks for letting me know about Taskmaster on YouTube. We will be watching more. It's such a low stress funny show. We can put it on and laugh at the antics of comedians who are almost entirely unfamiliar to me .

I got up this morning and actually took my ADHD medicine on my day off and I have been low key stressing about grocery prices and trying to be better. My weakness is not being as frugal as I can at work. I looked through our pantry and found we have these big bags of split peas and a small one of lentils

I found a recipe for caramelized onion and lentil croquettes and tried it. All industrious and everything. They taste ok but they are kind of a disaster. I didn't drain the lentils enough so when I pureed them they were too soft. And the recipe called for fresh bread crumbs which was a mistake. So I kept addon bread crumbs and frying them and they taste ok but a little oily and fall apart

I'm going to try again but with dry bread crumbs . Also the only seasoning was salt and pepper so I added seasoning. I think maybe if I tried this puree with a falafel recipe that might work better. Also baking it. but the ingredients are simple enough and M loved it so I don't feel bad experimenting if it doesn't quite turn out

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Ah Calli... I thought my last job hunt would take three months. It took six. I applied to hundreds of jobs, got one interview, and its the wonderful job I have. I think that's just the nature of the beast sometimes, hang in there!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Thanks, y’all. I’ve applied for 79 jobs and had 7 official interviews, plus 2 “tell us more” phone calls. So it’s not entirely shouting into a void. But it does feet a little tiresome. On the upside, my sour dough skills are growing by leaps, bounds, and microbes.

That actually sounds like a good response rate!

And askye I hope you are able to tweak the recipe to make it work because "caramelized onion and lentil croquettes" sounds delicious

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Onerous tasks achieved today:

Long-ass article edited
Batch of copycat Starbuck's egg bites made
Sink full of dishes washed
Load of clothes washed, dried, and put away
Toilet scrubbed
Bathroom sink scoured

This evening I will watch Monday Night Football without any guilt that I should be accomplishing something. (Not that I expect the Bengals to do shit, but hey.)

And Zepbound shot #8 is tonight. The GI side effects seem to be under control (knock on wood).

Week 4 of cancer treatment started this morning — almost halfway through! Tim's voice is getting kind of raspy, which was a thing we knew might happen.
