You know, my big sister could really beat the crap out of her. I mean, really really.

Our wings are not tired.

Love it when a plan comes together!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Your day sounded dizzying, Steph.

I still have a haircut in half an hour. And then I am going to eat some oatmeal and go to bed.

We are good! She is headed to the game tonight.

Woo-hoo!

Glad that worked out.

Happy Birthday, Trudy!

Hair is now 4 inches shorter. I am too lazy to make oatmeal so I am eating Greek yogurt and contemplating whether I want a banana, and then I am going to bed.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Trudy!

Came down to breakfast Sunday morning to a very loud fridge. It is still cooling and freezing stuff well, it's just that the motor has become noisy. A new refrigerator may be in our future. The one we have was here when we moved in in 2005, and Gary thinks it's 25-27 years old.

Glad the ticketing worked out Brenda!

I am in a gym in Thailand. Basically my friend I am traveling with has a close friend (who I was acquainted with but is not really a friend of mine) who lives here, so she’s been showing us around. We got in at midnight Wednesday, and yesterday we all went to a pool for a while (and had delicious cheap smoothies and lovely lunch, though possibly I will regret eating ice and lettuce and whatnot) then saw her workplace (she’s an artist) and then got massages. Today we went to breakfast (delicious fruit plate fo about $3, and some yummy avocado and scrambled egg on toast for $4) and then she picked us up and we came to the gym. While I’d been getting lots of steps in Korea, here I think we are more likely to be driven/in a taxi. So gym probably a good thing.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Happy birthday, Trudy!

Week 1 of treatment is officially done; 6 weeks to go! Fortunately, it's too early for side effects*, so Tim is still eating normally and trying to put on a few pounds that can be sacrificed later. His entire oncology team is really great -- extremely knowledgeable, helpful as shit, and super nice. I'm worried about when side effects get bad, because they'll affect his ability to eat (radiation to the mouth and neck is basically the process of giving him controlled burns to his mouth and throat 5 days a week for 7 weeks), but we know it's likely to happen AND that there are a lot of ways to make it more tolerable for him.

*(He feels a little fatigued, but I have to point out that he's still not getting 8 hours of sleep. He fights sleep like a little kid and always has. So when I get in bed at 11, he's up until 12, 12:30, sometimes 1 am. In fact, the other night I woke up at 1, saw he wasn't in bed, stomped out to the living room, and barked, "You have CANCER! Fucking GO TO BED!" [You can see I am a graceful and sweet caretaker.] But seriously, his sleep habits are terrible. I suspect as treatment progresses, the fatigue will win and force him to go to bed, so I'm not trying to fuss too much at this point.)

Since he's still eating normally, we're going to a German restaurant tomorrow for dinner with his brother and SiL. He wants to get in all of his favorite foods before he can't eat them for a while.
