Avoiding the news. The part that upsets me the most is that the changes won't go into effect until after the midterm elections and the uninformed idiots won't know what is about to hit them until after they vote their deplorable representatives back into office again.
My grandparents owned a dairy where they delivered milk and made ice cream. My grandfather used to buy bunches of bananas at a time for splits but he’d tell the people at the store that they were for the chimps at the (nearby) DuPont experimental station.

Omg I’m camping this weekend for this dance event in the woods. Made a list, overpacked like crazy, drove 2.5 hours to get here…realized I have my tent but the tent POLES are at home in my garage.
Thankfully someone has an extra tent and someone else is stopping at my garage and bringing the poles tomorrow. But omg

I did get a cute new haircut today. And a friend brought by some fresh St-Viateur bagels direct from Montreal.
Bagels are a sign of love, I always say. Especially from Montréal.
In related news, housemate and I will be going to boichik bagels in Berkeley to pick up an order.
I decided to meet up with my son for dinner last night since his GF would be working late. Told him to meet us at Grande's Pizza. As we left, I messaged him our ETA. We get there, no son. 5-10 minutes later still no son so I try and call, but no cell signal or internet. (a common issue up here). More and more time passes and now over a half hour so DH goes walking to try and grab signal. He finally reaches him about 40 minutes late and son is in full on panic mode. Getting ready to drive the route we would take to see if we are in a ravine or something, because both our phones are offline.
It ends up that there are 3 Grande's, but I have only been to one of them. Another is just a couple blocks from his place so he assumed I was going there. I felt so bad. I didn't panic when I couldn't reach him. because I thought maybe something came up, but he was totally freaked out.
And so goes the reversal of parent/child/parent roles.
