Like -t's mom that's how it was for me when I was sensitive to it. No milk or soft cheese, but hard natural was fine.

Same. I can have swiss or provolone on a sandwich with no problem. For milk/creamer/ice cream I have to stick with the non-dairy options.
I don't drink milk that often and no ice cream kinda sucks but it's better than all dairy or gluten being an issue.
You can still have a fancy sorbet! They have a dark chocolate sorbet at the Ice Cream bar that's fantastic. Also a passionfruit/blood orange sorbet.
Happy Teppy Day!
I've done my Monday morning Pilates. I can't say I look forward to it - there's definitely some ass dragging going there. But I do like my teacher and classmates and it really anchors my week and I get exercise first thing, so it's all worth it.
lisah, I've been all about the fresh berries and yogurt this summer. My fav in between meals snack.
Just yesterday I was contemplating about how produce is infinitely better than it was when I was growing up. In the 60s and 70s the focus was on creating fruit and veg that could safely ship across country. Bland, watery tomatoes everywhere. Nothing but one dimensional Delicious apples. Lots of fruit was picked before it was ripe and artificially stimulated to give it color. Even something as basic and easy as blueberries tended to have more tartness than sweet ones.
Anyway, part of it is just moving to California where there's so much great fresh produce but all around the emphasis on local growers and organic farm stands etc. has raised the quality of everything.
The dew point here in NYC is currently 78°.
That’s, like, liquid air or something.
I got two pints of local, fresh strawberries from the farmer’s market on Saturday. I’ve already eaten 1½ of them. SO much better than supermarket strawberries.
I was thinking back to produce in the 70s and where we got the good stuff was growing our own in the backyard or buying from some guy with a panel truck on the side of the road.
I have to look up what dew point means (in the sense of "is that high? Is high bad?") every time, I seem to have made my peace with not ever being able to actually learn that.

I am looking forward to fancy sorbets.
-t thanks for letting me know I'll try some ice cream at some point and see if I have issues with it .
I saw on TikTok someone made watermelon sorbet by taking watermelon and blending it with some honey and then freezing it so I might try that at some point.
Even though it currently feels like 98F all the cats are outside really soaking up the heat. It confuses me. They are stretched out on the porch and will come in for a minute before wanting to go back outside

Sounds like he's got a randy johnson.
I used to love it when Wang would face off against Dickey.
