"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yeah, just regular house flies, but the little ones.

San Francisco is blessedly bug free in most instances, in marked contrast to my Florida childhood.

Anyway, I've successfully Exterminated With Extreme Prejudice.

Oooh, I just saw a hummingbird flit into the tree across the street. A good omen for Matilda's return.

Side note, here's a comprehensive New Yorker article on the AI revolution and its implications with actual research: [link]

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I just saw a hummingbird

Envy. None at my feeder yet.

Thrive to spite them

We use AI at work. Our chat bot was Ask Sam but they changed it to Sidekick. I kind of feel bad they took Sam's name off. I think they added ask sparky to the app. You have to be careful when you ask it certain things. Most of the time I can put in "tomato soup" and get the products but if I put in "chicken stock" or anything with stock it will give me info about how the shares are doing on the stock market. So you have to ask "where do we have chicken stock" or something.

Happy Birthday to people who have had birthdays.

I woke up early and took my sucralfate suspension and I had been feeling fine and after I took it I started having stomach pains and nausea. I got to work and it was awful. So I claimed by leave and left. It was bad enough I stopped at the urgent care. They couldn't do anything....I didn't think they could but I just needed to talk to a dr.

I also messaged mine to say I need to see a specialist at this point.

The only semi upside is last Tuesday I got to see E but I was feeling miserable and couldn't enjoy it as much. And I called out the next day I felt so bad .

I think it's suspicious I'm doing it after my days off but I tried to go to work . I'd rather be at work.

Oh and E doesn't have a jam packed summer so he is going to try and come to NC for 2 weeks (week with Mom and a week with his other family) and go to Florida. So that will be cool.

E is growing up to be such a great kid. He is going to be Lurch in the upcoming school play. And he wants to study history.

M and I went to the big comic book store and he found some things. One of the employees taught me how to play Boop Which is "complex tic tac to with cats and kittens" according to him. [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett and I picked up Matilda at the airport. She was very tired and crabby, as she had been wrangling four bags and a heavy box worth of stuff all the way home (and hadn't gotten much sleep the night before she left).

Then we exited the airport, went to the parking garage and waited for the Monorail Air Train to take us to the garage with our car but that stop was out of service. So we had to trek all the way back into the terminal, and go in the opposite direction and, well, it was a full half hour detour on just getting to the car. Fortunately all the stuff was on a cart.

Anyway, she is home and has crawled into her own bed which she has been missing.

Our wings are not tired.

Hopefully she will sleep all the way until tomorrow, but her excitement might wake her sooner.

Aw, yay for a safe return and a snuggly bed. Rest well, Matilda!

I hope the box did not contain a puppy.

It did not. Though I dreamed last night she tried to smuggle the puppy back and was detained by authorities.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

This weekend was a shitshow. Mr. S was here for two nights, and both nights ended up in an ER visit. He had seemed a bit off during the days, but not that bad. The meltdown Friday night was kinda bad, with him barricading himself in various rooms. Last night was much worse, with him being physically aggressive(throwing things at me, hitting me with a belt) and destructive.(He tore down both towel racks in Gary and my bathroom) He ended up getting sedated at the ER last night, and Gary picked him up there and brought him back to the RTC. I don't know what set him off.
