It's actually been a really hard year, when you stop and do the math. Eliot would cry, too, if it didn't take him seventy minutes of therapy, two cocktails, and a Sondheim medley before he can experience a human emotion through the haze of his PTSD.

I am frustrated because I saw the orthopedic surgeon yesterday to see about scheduling a hip replacement in December (this is not the dick ortho bro who I saw for my hip earlier this year; this is a different ortho bro, who was friendly and not a dick), and he said that he would prefer to wait until February or even March because my cervical spine surgery was so recent. I told him my spine surgeon cleared me to have hip replacement in December, but that doesn't change Nice Ortho Bro's own preference to wait.

And I do understand his caution. It is kind of crazy to want 2 surgeries within 3 months of each other. I just really wanted to get this behind me. There are other ortho practices in town, and University of Cincinnati has a very good one, and maybe I'll see if I can get in with them after vacation, and maybe they can do it in December. But for now, I am going to pack and tomorrow we head to the beach.

Punishingly Intricate

That’s frustrating the ortho wants you to wait, Steph. Hope you can find someone to do the surgery in December and hope you have a great vacation!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

May the seaside do your health all the good!
