You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

That which does not kill you should RUN

Teppy I would have the worst time falling asleep like that, good luck! As someone else said hope the opiates work for that!!

Fortunately I don’t have to wear it when I’m sleeping.

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

GS had a very appreciative laugh, especially given the stereotype of the feminist with no sense of humor.(I think there are some, but she wasn't.) Real amusement is just so different from that thing we do to smooth things over and all that.(Which has its place still, unfortunately.)

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

A little rain here, just a sprinkle. Nice cooling effect, though.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope you can get used to the neck brace for as long as you need it, Steph. I’m ok with neck things, but stuff on my wrists bothers me to no end.

Atropa, I hope that was a one-off event for you—it sounds scary and unpleasant.

Work was definitely work-like today. As an editor, I’m downstream of a lot of other people’s work, and everyone wants to get stuff off their desks (and onto mine) before the long weekend. Also, I’m the newbie, so the other two members of my team are off tomorrow. I’m gonna earn that three day weekend and then some.

On the other hand, we had a couple of gorgeous thunderstorms roll through today. Lots of wind, rain, and lightning, but I never really lost power, which is the best combo.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Number Whichever's Next on the negligent poster/diligent reader bench.

Also on the hate strangly things around my neck bench. I have a couple really snuggly cowl neck sweaters I still wear: the white one is loose-knit, very airy and soft, the black one has a split in the cowl, which drapes nicely and shows off a sizeable brooch very well. Neither clings. I will also wear a very soft, open-knit scarf, one that drapes on my shoulders, back of the neck and bib-like in front for lucious warmth, and loose enough I can dip my nose, cheeks and chin into its welcome, warm folds. Anything more snug, fuggedaboudit.

Stef,I hope your surgery is completely successful and fixes your problems well, and recovery is on schedule and non-bothersome as possible.

Atropa. those symptoms do sound scary. Along with everyone else, I hope a successful treatment can be found, and has miraculous curative resolution.

Calli, I tried wearing compression gloves for my hands, but quickly had to stop. Now I rob DH's sock drawer for the black dress socks he really doesn't wear any more, lop the foot part off and wear the ankle-calf part around my wrists and forearms for warmth. Tension does not help, but the soft snug warmth is wonderful.

Matt and ND, I hope your period of depression has lightened and things feel easier and brighter for you now. It can feel futile and stupid to battle your own brain, and I truly wish you brighter days.

The rest of you, you're always in my thoughts, even if I don't manage to say so.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It was raining when I left work, not hard enough I needed my wipers (which I had just changed yesterday, how’s that for timing?) on for the whole drive. Went out to eat and could smell the petrichor through the restaurant’s open door the whole meal, still felt more like mist than rain when we came out but the parking lot looked good and wet. Hopefully decreased fire danger round about

Deferred from donating plasma today, have to wait 3 weeks after a Hep B vax and it's two dose so I won't be able to donate until mid October or so. But they gave me the Hello Kitty reward, which is pretty cute. And I can have some coffee now (I don't have it before to help with my pulse rate acceptability...)

Our wings are not tired.

Getting in a bathing suit to spend some dock time with my sister. Not sure how many warm days we will have left. Only 70 today, but sunny.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Atropa, here's hoping they were right and it was just an unusual migraine! Flights of obstacles should not hit when you're having a scary medical event.
