Sending clear~sky~ma to people in the eclipse zones.
No eclipse here, but tomorrow night we should have clear skies for the Milky Way and Perseids viewing. My Weather Underground page for my zip code (13338) has been broken for a week or so and always shows my current temperature as -40F, which amuses me as it does happen, just not in August. The other info is accurate.
The eclipse livestream on YouTube channel timeanddate is excellent. Feeds from multiple cities.
We're only getting about 9% eclipse coverage here, but I found the eclipse viewers I saved from last year and went out to see the sun with a little bite taken out of it. Hope the Iceland-bound Buffistas are getting a good show!
I watched a bit of the NASAfes. Stunning.
It indeed rained the whole time. But it did still get dark for totality and then get light again. People clapped, which was kind of silly and adorable. Everyone seemed to be making the best of not getting the view they came for, though it was just “folks who walked down to the waterfront” and not “people who paid big money to be at the blue lagoon or on a rooftop somewhere during it” who may have been more annoyed.
May I recommend hot chocolate, meara?
I had hot chocolate afterward! My sister and friends were drinking aperol spritzes, which seemed way too summery.
Coworker just said "this is a gentle follow-up" in an email which is even worse than friendly reminder. I generally like this coworker so I'm trying to let it go but I had to complain somewhere. Just gross.
