Our wings are not tired.

Today we celebrate Kat's birthday! I hope you are being spoiled today and that the year to come brings all you hope for and more.

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

Happy birthday, Kat! It's also the ADA's birthday and I still can't really celebrate because it's another thing that isn't what I thought it was going to be.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Happy birthday Kat!

Hec, that's very similar to how I handle avocados. Good to know I'm following an expert's protocol!

I have arrived in Canada. Cue annual feeling of wanting to stay forever. (While knowing on a practical level thar this cabin is uninhabitable at least 7 months of the year.)

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Happy birthday, Kat!

I've never quite figured how to judge ripeness of an avocado and I'd really like to make some avocado/banana popsicles right about now.

Where do you come from? Where do you go? What is your scene, baby? We just gotta know.

I keep my fruit out of the refrigerator UNTIL they ripen, and then put them in the fridge, which allows me to eat ripe fruit for several days, instead of having to eat them all at once, although fruit kept in the fridge for too long will be nasty. This method will give me a few extra days, and I prefer to eat my fruit chilled.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Buncha weirdos refrigerating things all over the place. A little over ripeness never hurt any fruit.

My sourdough starter Doughn* survived the road trip to the cottage and I have figured out a so-far ant-proof but also breathable way to store her on the counter. (Stab plastic wrap with knife, cover open jar with mesh drain cover, holey plastic wrap on top, hold in place with metal ring.)

(* I made her out of Buffy)

Same, including the avocados. They may have more flavor at room temperature, but are more refreshing chilled. YDFTMV

Impressive, Jess! I hope the ants continue to stay out of Doughn
