Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This crumbling human body is falling apart at a hilariously rapid pace, sheesh.

What the hell? You're not supposed to get dental pain on top of hip pain on top of taking care of your partner's umpteenth surgery recovery!

shakes tiny fist towards whoever designed these bodies

I hope the dentist gives quick relief.

I'm on the road again today back to Florida. I want to beat any Memorial Day traffic.

In more delightful news, I got a VeeSee box to use up here and have been enjoying the last week or so of Colbert skipping through commercials. He will be missed. I am never awake at 11:30 but I generally watch the next day. I've been too busy the last week or so to do so and this is catch up time.

I agree! Fortunately I see the dentist in 45 minutes to sort this out.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

TheGoodDrugs™ ~ma to you for your dental visit, Steph!

Dentist says there's definitely swelling, but doesn't see any infection. So I have prednisone for the swelling and tylenol with codeine for the pain and am going to stick to soft food for a day or two. Bring on the mashed potatoes!

Huh. Yay mashed potatoes! Pain go away!

So, I'm not sure how much of this I have told y'all, but I went to a new dentist right before my giant vacation for what I figured was a chipped tooth. X-rays, etc, they set me up with a root canal on the day I am leaving and a pre-root-canal cleaning the day before. I go in for the cleaning and they only do half my mouth, the other half from broken tooth. Which seems off but presumably they know what they are doing. A couple of hours later I get a call asking if they can move out the root canal because if staffing issues. At this point I have antibiotics and pain killers and have been told that if I have a problem while I'm travelling I can go to one of their other offices so I move it to after I get back - yesterday. Yesterday they call me half an hour before my appointment to tell me they haven't gotten my crown and they want to delay again, they'll call me to reschedule when they get it. Fine. This morning I get a text saying "We missed seeing you, reschedule here". I am pretty sure it's just the automated texting system has not caught up with the actual person I spoke to yesterday, but I'm losing a little confidence in this whole enterprise.

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

I would too. By the time you straighten things like that out, I bet automation doesn't save all that much time.

Okay, I hit the sweet spot of prednisone, ibuprofen, and tylenol with codeine where my mouth doesn't hurt (yay!!!) but the NYT Spelling Bee is REALLY HARD YOU GUYS.

I am going to go eat salted caramel mochi, thank you Trader Joe's.

I'm up to "Nice" on the Spelling Bee with two Pangrams, that's probably good enough for me
