You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

The status is NOT quo.

Sending to much love to Trudy and her family. I know we say it over and over, but it’s still true: It’s always sudden.

I am in total denial that Tickybox could be 21.

Deepest condolences to you, Trudy, and your family. Sending love.

Thrive to spite them

I got a new phone. My previous one kept forgetting it had a sim card and I would have to restart my phone. Which was annoying especially when I didn't realize for several hours and missed texts.

Yesterday I had to restart it 4 times just so it would recognize and I went to get a new one. I wasn't sure what I would get but I figured it would be a major step down. BUT I didn't have much balance left and I paid it off and there was a sale so I got a Samsung S25 Ultra for almost nothing .

Now I have to get used to Samsung again. I was frustrated with the Pixel for several reasons but the most recent update made a change to the flashlight that means you couldn't just turn it on and off by touching thr icon. It now gave the option for Done that closed the drop down but left it open or Off. Technically not an extra step but it was inconvenient.

I don't plan on changing phones for a long time after this

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Oh, Trudy. I wish you weren't in the crappiest club with me. And, yeah. Always sudden.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry for your loss, Trudy.

My mom would have turned 86 yesterday, so I understand.

The status is NOT quo.

On a completely separate note, I’ve been considering trying microdosing semiglutides for a few months to see how it goes and am curious if anyone else has done so or has any thoughts on it here. I’m not interested in full doses because I can’t handle extreme nausea and other GI issues, but I’m curious if a microdose might reduce cravings, have sleep benefits, help with me PCOS and diabetes risk etc. I already do strength-training twice a week, which I hope would offset any muscle loss.

My personal experience was with Ozempic, and I can't say when in the dosing ramp up the food noise issue got better, but it wasn't right away. The effect disappeared when I went off of it.

I'm now on the Wegovy pill and did not notice anything at all on the lowest dose (no ill or positive effects), and I start the second month's ramp up dose tomorrow. Won't be at full dose until the fourth month.

I hadn't heard of microdosing GLP-1, but I also didn't suffer from nausea on the injectable or the pills (so far, anyway). But the low dose pill has not had any effect on the "craving" aspect, if that's a useful data point.
