Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yesterday was another disaster. Mr. S slipped on icy ground and hurt his arm. Gary took him to urgent care, where they x-rayed the arm and found no broken bones, He was given a sling and went home. After dinner he was complaining about the arm, and got disregulated when we wouldn't call PM Pediatrics about it. He called 911, and got physically aggressive with the responders, so off to the ER he went, with me following behind. His arm was examined, and they found bruising but nothing else. He then had another meltdown which resulted in him being sedated. I ended up staying there all night without getting much sleep. We got back to the house around 8:30 am.

On the bright side, I had my stress test on Friday and everything looked fine.

My company also wants us to use AI but I really don’t trust it.

Thrive to spite them

msbelle glad your mom's tests came back clear

We have an AI chat bot to find things or ask questions. It used to be called Ask Sam but they changed it to Sidekick (but there was something else called sidekick that they either got rid of or renamed) but I think it was more than just renaming it because the algorithm has had more issues. Before you could just type in "soy sauce" and it would bring up everything we had. And the only issue was using the word stock because it would try to bring up stock market results. Now I often have to type in "where is soy sauce" or "do we carry soy sauce" because if you don't phrase it like a question for some things side kick won't bring back results. And sometimes even phrasing it as question gets no results.

Laura it really sucks what people are going through and parents being afraid to send their kids to school. I worry about my customers and also my coworkers. And locally police have said they will help ICE so you can't even hope they will protect the community.

It seems you have a stress test every day! I'm sorry it is so exhausting and challenging at home.

I went to Heated Rivalry trivia last night. The organizers (who also run other trivia nights around the city that I often go to with friends) underestimated the rabidness of fangirls. By a lot. I only got three questions wrong (one was about the exact wording of a quote, two were from episode 3 which I haven’t rewatched nearly as many times—the name of the Mexican place they don’t go to is never said on screen, only shown!) and I was tied with like six other teams for fourth place. With more teams tied for 3rd and 2nd. But it was still fun to be around a bunch of fans. (Some great team names too—winners were “Glasses on Socks off”)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Glasses on Socks off

Hahaha so good.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds so fun, meara!

My boss has finished his part of my annual appraisal and kicked it up the chain. As expected, the 66% weight of the company wide goal on profitability dominates the results. Not so expected: they are apparently saying that our almost meeting the goal (of decreasing our losses) exceeded expectations. Which is nice but confusing. I still think we will not get raises this year, but who knows?

Ugh, so it looks like I will convert to an online only participation for the ACPT this year. Mainly general recognition that I should have been more responsible in my budgeting, and also just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should. Blergh. Anyway, I will miss seeing you guys there in person, but I'll be puzzling along with you online! Philly in 2027, though -- not missing that.

Aw, bummer you will miss the in person, Jen. Responsibility sucks. I hope the online only is still fun!
