Oh, I wish those council guys would let me have an hour alone in the room with her, if I was larger and had grenades.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh, fuck. (Catherine O'Hara. She was only 71.)

Punishingly Intricate

So shocked and sad about Catherine O’Hara

Our wings are not tired.

That is very sad to hear. She brought me many smiles. (and being 71 right now hits a different way too!)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Just saw that, I am actually shocked. And sad, of course.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I am so angry and sad.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh, fuck. (Catherine O'Hara. She was only 71.)

Ugh. I'm glad she was able to find a new audience later in her career with Schitt's Creek, but that's too young.

There was a concert where Danny Elfman led her, and Paul Reubens in a singalong from Nightmare Before Xmas reprising their work on the soundtrack. Now she and Paul are gone.

I've loved her since her SCTV days.

Pix and I were at that concert.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yay Tim!

It's been an annoying week, to say the least. Mr. S's school was closed all week because of the weather. My workplace was closed Monday and Tuesday, though I am expected to make it in anyhow. Monday I couldn't because my car hadn't been dug out enough. Tuesday I managed to get the car out of the parking space though it took some effort and spinning my wheels a bit. (I shoveled out a pathway behind both rear tires on Monday, but the path behind the rear passenger tire was filled in when I came out on Tuesday.) Gary ended up working from home the whole week.

It hasn't been above freezing all week.

Also, Mr. S had a meltdown Wed. night, trapped me in the computer room(he was sitting against the door) and threw a bunch of things at me, including a baseball which hit me on the ear. He also threw something hard that hit me on the temple. Add to that him saying a bunch of mean things to me, and it was a bad night.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's funny, I'm sitting with my own memories of Catherine O'Hara and sifting through all the clips and tributes.

But it put me to mind how much Jessica loved A Mighty Wind and "A Kiss At the End of the Rainbow" and how much Ple loved Moira's wigs.

I guess in the same way I'm put to mind of DXM when I see certain pictures of The Kinks, or the Dodgers win, or think of Ginger when I see classic science fiction covers by Kelly Freas, or the Braves do something good, or I think of Connie Neil and Eowyn.

I know the things you love, my friends, and they abide with me.

Thrive to spite them

I know the things you love, my friends, and they abide with me.

That's really beautiful.

With my Jamaican coworker I think about ita which means I think about all of you. I watched video of this kick ass woman who is an expert at Silat and a few other martial arts.

So often now online in comments I practice what I learned from observing how Jacqueline interacted with people. And this past week or so at work.
