And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Lots of snow here! Weather app says there is also "freezing fog" which sounds like an excellent reason to stay inside and maybe bake a giant cookie in a cast iron skillet to keep the house warm.

Thrive to spite them

We have ice. Looks like snow on the ground but it's just ice. I've seen ice coating the peach tree in the back and it's freezing rain right now so we could still lose power.

A lot of places have lost power up in Transylvania county where Mom is but she is ok

The store is closed ! This means we get hazard pay (well anyone who was scheduled).

One of my coworkers lives within walking distance and he walked to the convenience store that is next to the store and they were open. I hope they can get home ok.

Scrappy has been yowling to get out and when I let him he dashed out until he hit the steps of the porch (it's covered). Took one step and turned right around. I have my own Littlest Nope paw print picture now . And when I opened the door when he was next to it a few minutes ago he ran away as fast as he could.

Mongo wasn't a fan either. He crunched through the ice were it was on some leaves. Then ran under the aide porch. Luckily when I opened the door he ran back inside. And then I almost wiped out when I stepped inside because I had on sneakers and the bottoms were coated in ice

I'll try to find my winter boots and maybe see if I can make over to main street (we live behind main street) and see what it is like

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

"freezing fog"

Look for rime ice on the trees and bushes, it can be very pretty.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

The sun is out, temperatures are up to the low 20s, and the roads are plowed. Still covered, but a quick experimental drive around my neighborhood showed me that traction isn't too bad. (Also, my car started and ran okay, yay!)

So I am going to indulge myself with a hotel room for tonight near the facility where I get an MRI tomorrow morning. That way I don't have to wake up quite so early, and I don't have to travel far in the cold and dark.

Excellent plan, dcp!

Full on sleet here now. I'm... not going anywhere. I doubt our street will get plowed today, but who knows.

Our wings are not tired.

That is an excellent plan, dcp!

Just finished my 45 minutes of laps in the pool. Current temp 83F

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good plan, dcp

Wishing y’all all the hygge

Punishingly Intricate

Great plan, dcp! We have 7-8 inches snow here and it’s been sleeting for a while. Bob is out shoveling like he likes to do but only after making us pancakes. We also had bacon and squeezed some orange juice. I’m in pjs my friend made me for Xmas and drinking coffee and kahlua. Can’t complain.

Wow Laura. Jealous.

Good plan dcp!

I was reminded by the friend who came over last night who lives way out in the burbs that being able to say “oh which bakery do you want to walk to” is a benefit of the city life.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We have about 9 inches of snow on the ground and it's still coming down. I think we should avoid sleet and ice, though, which is good.

Tim was supposed to have his follow-up PET scan tomorrow morning to see if confirm that the cancer is gone, but that definitely ain't happening. They were able to move the PET scan to Wednesday morning, which should be doable. And then we'll meet with the oncologists Wednesday afternoon to go over the ([damn well better be] excellent, spectacular) results.
