Anya: It's lovely! I wish it was mine! Oh like you weren't all thinking the same thing. Giles: I'm fairly certain I wasn't.

My brother in law (who is mid 50s) is having his hip replaced tomorrow! My sister said so far the issue is that he wasn’t allowed his usual painkillers for two weeks pre surgery so he’s been hurting extra bad.

My package which yesterday said I needed to go to the downtown postal center to get it, today got delivered. About 15 minutes before I was going to drice down there. Whew, good timing! Confusing but a relief

Our wings are not tired

I had a lump removed from my face near my left eyebrow. It was mostly likely seborrheic keratosis but the dematologist couldn't make a difinitive diagnosis so it's going to pathology to make sure it's nothing to worry about.

The good news is the rest of my skin looked good, which for a fair skinned person who has spent most of their life in Southern California is a pretty good thing. Let's here it for a career that has mostly kept me out of the sun.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My FiL had both hips replaced and the recovery was pretty easy both times.

ND, hope you get nothing but good news!

I realized (or actually, DH realized) that the crossword tournament is the same weekend as the high school musical, so I most likely won't be able to go to the whole thing even if I get in via the waitlist. But if any out-of-town Buffistas want to come see Aeryn in The Prom (as ensemble), let me know! (We're about 45 minutes from Stamford, longer in traffic).

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Wow, I sort of wish I was coming in so I could see the musical. I genuinely love student musicals!

Shrift, congrats! I hope Cobra goes as well as can be expected.

I cannot believe tomorrow is only Wednesday. I feel like two weeks worth of work has already been done, and also, I hate everyone. That is not very healthy but I think I am too old to get a new job, and I have not planned anything out. I did my 18th iPad orientation today since 2020 and I am still troubleshooting the same stuff. At least it wasn’t over Zoom.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Congrats, Shrift! My “voluntary” severance was a good thing, in as much as most of my coworkers had an involuntary one, without the extra cash, a few months later. I hope yours goes smoothly and that you find something satisfying to do on the other side.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

CONGRATULATIONS Shrift!

I am over here just wishing for some early retirement option to come down, but I doubt I would qualify if one were offered.

My sick sack is currently filled with mucus, but at least I can speak today.

Lisah I refuse to believe you gave me this. Colds cannot transfer while friends are having a good time together.

I turn 55 tomorrow (an age I’ve been claiming for at least a year b/c I like it more that 54). I feel it more days than not now. It’s odd how in just a year things can shift. I understand how people get to where things feel like so much more effort and things that once brought enjoyment seem exhausting. My brain is catching up to my body in this realization. I want less to have to manage.

SAME

I was heartened to learn that once you are over 55 if you are separated from your job you can withdraw from your 401K. My secret plan for survival if I get laid off or fired. Gets me through many days! I know it's better long-term to NOT do that but long-term strategy is a bit of a luxury sometimes

Anyway, I hope you have a good day tomorrow, msbelle! Even if your publicly acknowledged age does not change. Or maybe especially.

I have nothing on my calendar today and I am having trouble remembering what I'm supposed to do if I'm not in meetings or preparing for meetings. Drinking coffee is part of it, and I've got that covered...

ION, I did not realize when I bought it that a Bacon and Egg Pie would essentially rise up like a souffle when baked. This is awesome!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

That sounds amazing and I am hungry.
