So I am making T'day food stuffs for DH (no carbing it), me and my friend (vegan), and the boys, and whoever else shows up. This is super last moment so I still have a few things to pick up from the store. I kind of have a plan, but it seems to be missing something.
So far:
Turkey,
Vegan sweet potato shepherds pie (w/ edamame, spinach, shroons, and stuff),
Carrot/Ginger soup,
Pear & Wild rice stuffing,
Roasted Brussels sprouts,
Curried califlower,
Green beans w/ sauteed mushrooms,
Cranberry sauce w/ pecans and pineapple,
Rolls of some kind because son won't eat anything but turkey above
eta: commas since I am too brain dead to make a list apparently
Mmm, Laura's food stuffs sound good.
I need to make whipped coconut cream for tomorrow. I think that's all? Huh. We're reheating one vegan dinner for two and one "healthy eating" dinner for two from Whole Foods tomorrow, to feed three of us. I'll bring the stuffed turkey breast with me, also, in case we decide we want that, but I don't have to do anything to it except stick it in a bag and transport it. Oh, should probably bring wine, too, I have a bottle or two that i haven't opened because I think I'd like to drink them with my parents, this might be a good time for that.
meara, is the celery, like, rotten or just wilted? You can perk it up if it's wilted by sticking it in ice water for a while.
Oh, hey, time to go home. Woohoo!
I worked sunday and will be working Saturday. However that meant tuesday wednesday, thurday and Friday off.
Made the mushroom pate yesterday. Made a very painful trip to the oncology office that Nathaniel had been going to . Card and soap for them - tears all around, but I feel a little better.
carrot curry soup cooking on the stove for tomorrow
happy hour at 4
1 dr appt scheduled.
2 paper grocery bags full of clothes 2 donate.
can't leave the house until tree service people finish in my yard, then cannot drop off the bags, swing by grocery, and mail things.
I'm in tech until at least 10:30 tonight, and we have two big concerts on Saturday and Sunday, so it's been a lot of trying to get artists to give us tech riders and stop changing things while we can still get the backline subrented. I full expect to get more changes either tomorrow or Friday from their management.
I baked a pumpkin pie earlier, and then I walked up to the farmers market to buy fancy chocolate for my cousin's birthday (and the walk will have to count as today's exercise, but since it was 30 minutes round-trip, I think that's decent), and now I need to bake an apple crisp and remember to put the wine in the fridge.
Later I need to clear off the dining room table (which will require a leafblower and/or flamethrower) and then paint my nails.
Laura, that sounds so good!
I have to cut up some carrots and celery and make dip.
tree people are gone. I am off to run the errands. Then I guess I will start on the cooking.
I finished the work I wanted to get done about 10 minutes ago, and I am not about to start anything else, so I need to kill 11 minutes, and then it is off to TJs bedlam for just one thing, and then home until Monday. YAY
Coconut foam is in the fridge, wine is selected and bagged by the front door, I am technically done with holiday prep.
Of course, there's all the not holiday related stuff I have to do. In a bit.
