"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Sounds lovely!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, how wonderful, Burrell!

Librarian Warlord

The American victim in Mali is from our town and has a son one grade ahead of K, same school. The crisis team will be at school on Monday, but we don't know much yet about how it will be addressed.

Wow, that's hitting pretty close to home.

I stocked up on generic Day and NyQuil yesterday and they are proving both necessary and effective, but I have no ambition to do anything that requires getting up off the couch today.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, Sparky.

So great, Burrell!

I'm going to go see my little cousin's play this afternoon, which should finish de-crabbifying me.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Loving every word about Franny, Burrell.

So hard, Sparky. {{K's schoolmate and family}}

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

For those arguing about refugees, it may be worth pointing that Anne Frank's family tried to emigrate to both the USA and England and were turned down and denied refuge in both nations.

I've had this discussion. Generally, the answer will be that we were wrong to turn her family away then, but we're right to turn Syrians away now, because Syrians are actually dangerous. "That's the same thing they said back then" doesn't seem to convince anyone.

The status is NOT quo.

I'm in the Detroit airport hoping my plan shows up eventually. It's snowing a lot.

Good luck, Pix!

I am not entirely following Scandal. How did Jake know Lazarus wasn't Eli's?
