They look good. Were they good? And how are they "smoky"?

I thought they were pretty good. They disappeared with gratifying speed. I think the butter browned a bit when I was infusing the cardamom pod shells, and the small amount of pepper may have come across as a bit smokey. Mostly I tasted spices and molasses.

Oh lord, I'm at my friend's wedding and don't know anyone else here and I just asked a stranger for a ride. SO awkward. At least there is a charging station here in the hotel lobby because my phone is about to die for no apparent reason. I'm sure the dinner will be nice though, right?

I had one girl who was very goth princess...all black lace and purple decorations and even a black veil! Adorable.

There was also a kid dressed as bacon and eggs.

I'm ready and waiting for trick or treaters to start their hunt. We bought a ton of candy since we have no clue what kind of traffic we will get.

This is also Jack's first Halloween. I'm planning on sitting on my porch so kids aren't too scared of him. I did put a sign in the window where he usually hangs out when we are outside that says Bark, BARK, bark, bArK, bark MEANS Happy Halloween.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I wore a leopard costume to work yesterday, which was a big hit. Today, we have just spent several sweaty hours cleaning and organizing the garage. Not exactly fun, but definitely needed.

Tonight, we are ducking out of our Halloweenish duties and going to see Antman at the $2 theater. We missed it not he first go round.
