Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

We also have online bill pay, plus reminders from online bill pay, plus calendar reminders.

You guys, if we don't hear from Nashville today, I am going to end up in a corner in the fetal position, rocking slowly back and forth.

I'm on my way to the office today despite not being fully recovered from this cold. I may regret this. I have cough drops, lemon ginger tea, and DayQuil in my backpack.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You guys are making such a good case for therapy, I may get back on the hunt for a therapist!

My remaining student loan payment is too much hassle to automate, and I almost never get the emails they claim to send me monthly. So every few months, I forget to pay it, and on the due date (seemingly) they send both me and my cosigner (my father) a letter in the mail. What the actual fuck? But guess what? None of that shows up on my credit report, because I do pay within the month, and there aren't even late fees. So, what seems like a significant fuckup (they send a LETTER to my FATHER), actually matters not at all.

...oh. maybe it's actually due this week.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Gud, the 2nd strategy on shrift's first link seems especially appropriate and shouldn't add to your scheduling burden.

Change the way you use self-talk so that you’re being kinder to yourself.

More details on self-talk are here. [link]

You have so much more value than you seem to realize.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

After yesterday, I just wanted to mention that I actually feel about 75% better today. Maybe the therapeutic complaining worked! (Not just my posts here; I vented at length to Tim about my trip to Colorado.)

My sinuses also don't hurt, so I'm not calling the doctor right now, but I promise I'll call if they start hurting again.

And it's supposed to be 60 here, so I am by god taking a walk, even if it's a short one (I have a TON of work) and even if it rains. I just want to get outside into the warm weather!

t edit Still no Kato pictures, but I can confirm he's still cute, even if he felt compelled to barf yesterday.

I've got all my bills on a rotating schedule in the To Do list on my tablet.

Glad you feel better, Steph. That trip does seem like it would take a week to recover from.

You know what would be amazing? If I could print anything out. The IT situation at my job is....not the best.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Gudanov, I suspect that you are making a fairly usual amount of mistakes but that there are some factors that make the mistakes you make especially burdensome. Talking with a therapist would help you figure out if your mistakes are ordinary ones that are being magnified by stress, or if you have some challenge such as ADHD or depression that causes you to be distracted and so make more mistakes. If it is the first, the therapist can assist you in handling the stress. If it is the second, the therapist can assist you in finding resources, tools, and strategies to keep you on track. As someone with ADHD, I can say that the calendar on my iPad has made a world of difference for me; and, there are dozens of tools out there to help with organization.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Well, shoot. I didn't bring my lunch today, planned to pick it up. The restaurant I had it in my head I wanted to go to doesn't open until 11. I'm in a meeting 11-12. I'm hungry now.

I do have chocolate, so, you know, I'll manage. But still.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Aw, Gud, I want to hug you. The world would not be better off without you, certainly your kids wouldn't. Please consider some of the suggestions already made, and try to be gentler with yourself.

Automatic bill pay is the only reason my bills get paid, pretty much. I'm so glad the days when I had to handle all that with just my own brain are over.

We had a departmental meeting today, the second part of which was a presentation from my department manager that included some positive feedback and acknowledgment for us staff editors that made me feel pretty good. I needed that appreciation today.
