Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Go Liese! That sounds pretty awesome.

And go Gud! New car is great and giving to someone in need is even better.

I really don't wanna work all day. And then travel and not get home until 1am. Ugh.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Husband flies to Nashville Saturday and returns Tuesday. They offered him an extra day so he could look around the city, so that seems promising.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Thanks, all! It's funny, adjusting expectations of people. I've got something close to hero-worship going on with this guy, (he was head of A&R at Warner, he's written for Tim McGraw, Flo Rida, all sorts of people) and he's really taken me under his wing. But every time we get together, I remember, oh yeah, he's human and he's got, like, flaws and stuff. So it's actually probably really good for me to be around him, ha!

Anyway, yeah, it's great.

It does sound promising, Dana! Here's hoping.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, good, lisah! I knew there was something else I wanted to comment on and it was your lack of power.

That sounds great, Dana!

Just took a picture with my boss, grandboss, and great-grandboss for the Employee of the Month thing, with someone else's certificate because mine has not actually gotten here yet. We are hoping that the name won't be readable when the picture is posted. Anyway, I had forgotten that this thing comes with a parking space so now I am excited about that! I think I also get, like, company scrip which means MOAR COOKING EQUIPMENT

brillig

Ah, what brave new world, where you can order something and get in within the same week, and you didn't even pay for extra special shipping. Where before you'd get a catalog, maybe call someone if you're lucky to place the order, then get it within a month. I understand why the internet is considered a standard utility now.

Hey, Kate, do you have a realtor recommendation? Since he has time, husband wants to spend a bit of time looking around to see what's what.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My brother feels really good today, and had his last beer around 8:00 last night and hasn't had one today. He thinks he might be done with the beer, and said that if he hasn't wanted a beer by this afternoon, he's going to pour out the remaining beers that are in the fridge.
