Fat and A+. And diabetic, if that's of interest, and high blood pressure.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

What's your hypothesis, Zen? I'm curious now.

About 12 years ago, when I was desperately trying All the Diets, the only ones that worked were the Atkins diet (super low carb, no bread or sugar) and the blood type diet (for me, blood type O, it meant basically a low carb high protein diet). Given that, I asked around amongst my friends and colleagues who had tried low carb diets, and I found that most of those who had had success were type O and most who had felt miserable on it were A. Then I contacted the Atkins Foundation and asked if they'd ever noticed such a correlation. They replied that while they'd never formally studied it and thus couldn't officially say, unofficially yes, it seemed most people who did best on low carb diets were type O.

Since then, when someone reports how they do on a low carb diet or how they feel eating protein vs. lots of carbs, I ask them their blood type and see where they fit into my data. Steph, who needs lots of protein but is type A, is not fitting in. Unless she feels really bad when she stops eating carbs, then she fits.

My BFF (type A), if she stops eating bread, goes into withdrawal-like misery, but she can stop eating meat and not even care. Me, I fall into fatigue and depression if I go too long without meat, but I stopped eating bread a week ago and barely notice the lack of it. I've also lost 5 pounds.

Add to my data pool, people. You must have data.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

speaking of diets and whatnot. Is there a group of us who are actively trying to not just eat better/be more active, but lose weight and/or size? I am thinking about a group willing to be pretty active with posting/tracking/sharing in a closed group somewhere.

I'll also post in the Buffistas kicking health's ass group.

hip deep in pie

I think I'm B+, and I am miserable without carbs, and feel best with meat in moderation.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm also A-plus! And "did well" on Atkins in that I lost weight and was not hungry, but carbs are my one true love.

I just checked -- the Van's Organic waffles are the ones that are vegan. I've also got a waffle recipe that I really like, but it's not too simple -- they're yeasted, so you've got to make the batter the night before and then let it sit. (Which I actually like, because I am so not awake enough to measure ingredients in the morning before I eat.)

I'm looking at ones like this: [link] which seem too simple to work (compared to my non-vegan recipe where you whip the egg whites separately), but that makes me feel like it's worth trying, at least.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Ok, to add to my data point, I'm O and I could more easily drop carbs from my diet than protein. I have never officially done Atkins, but have definitely skewed my diet to more protein.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Type O, and I do not wish to give up either protein or carbs.

That probably doesn't help you.
