Xander: Am I right, Giles? Giles: I'm almost certain you're not. Though, to be fair, I haven't been listening.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Ok, to add to my data point, I'm O and I could more easily drop carbs from my diet than protein. I have never officially done Atkins, but have definitely skewed my diet to more protein.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Type O, and I do not wish to give up either protein or carbs.

That probably doesn't help you.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

so, ok, how do I find out my blood type?

Karma is a cat, sleeping in my lap cuz it loves me. ~TS

O neg, and I usually have success with low carb/high protein diets. But I still love carbs to death. And always go back to them, even though they treat me so badly.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

speaking of diets and whatnot. Is there a group of us who are actively trying to not just eat better/be more active, but lose weight and/or size? I am thinking about a group willing to be pretty active with posting/tracking/sharing in a closed group somewhere.

I'd be up for that! I'm going back on high protein/low carb as that works best for me in terms of results (physical and mental). I am ashamed to admit I do not know my blood type off the top of my head.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I think you can get them to tell you your blood type when you give blood, if you're into that. I did it with a kit in middle school lab. So there's a chance I'm wrong, I guess. There wasn't much supervision.

brillig

I've never faithfully stuck to a defined diet long enough to tell whether I feel bad on it or not. I try to eat more meat than carbs, but potatoes are my friend. My low-life friend that's fun to be with and gets me in trouble.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Steph, who needs lots of protein but is type A, is not fitting in. Unless she feels really bad when she stops eating carbs, then she fits.

I feel lousy without some carbs. I can't give them up. But I *also* need a lot of protein.

I am your outlier.

We're still at the anecdata stage. But anecdata is fun!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You can order a kit from...ThinkGeek? Somewhere. And do the test yourself. We did DH's because I was shocked when I found out he didn't know his. Partially because I have always known mine and partially because his father was a doctor, seemed like a natural topic to have been covered at some point. Anyway, the test was easy enough. It's also probably in your medical records if you've ever had blood drawn, certainly if you donate blood.

I'm AB+ and do well on Atkins, find it pretty easy to drop carbs although I enjoy them when I eat them. My sister is O and got into that Eat Right For Your Type diet back in the day. I know she's wheat intolerant and likes her some protein. The recommendations given for the AB+ type when I glanced over them were not really appealing to me - I think it said I shouldn't have salmon but I should have dairy? In terms of effective weight loss strategies - calories in vs calories out seems to work for me whatever the details, but low carb tends to be easiest for me to stick to for long stretches of time.

As a complicating factor, I have also been told that my dairy aversion (and maybe love of butter and cream in spite of that) is typical of Alpha Thalassemia Minor, so maybe that overrides whatever AB+ tendencies I have.

ALSO, msbelle, I am interested in this idea. I have been slacking on the weightloss efforts and could maybe use such a group.
