You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

See, I thought Elf on the Shelf was creepy, but practicing voodoo on your own children? What is this world coming to?

That is super super creepy. Wow.

Threw a baby shower today, it went a lot better than I was worried about. We had onesie decorating and a trivia contest and it was good. I'm impressed by how good people were at decorating onesies!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

And work has a policy of no more than a week off at any time.

Well, that is a terrible policy. But yay three-day weekends! I'm taking every Friday off in February, because I can. I don't exactly have excess vacation to burn up, but I feel the need for some time off.

Sourdough - you can make your own starter using wild yeast (really, whatever is already on whatever flour you use not so much what is in the air in your locale. IIRC rye is a good choice) or you can buy some starter or get some sourdough from someone who already has some going. Once you get it to the point where it reliably doubles in volume when you feed it, you just need to feed it once a week and use the excess to make bread or whatever (you can add a little baking powder and make crumpets, a little baking powder and a little butter and an egg for pancakes, etc.) or just toss the extra if you have the emotional capability of doing that (I do not, but I understand some people can manage it). I've never had starter/mother (mother is, to me, a vinegar term but it's basically the same process so I am guessing we are talking about the same stuff) grow in the fridge, only on the counter, I'm not sure why it would do that.

I'm going to try to revive mine before too long. I suspect it has long passed the point of dormancy and just died, but I'll try feeding it for a while and see what comes back, just in case it does revive.

I feel like I should have gotten more done today than I did, but what I did get done is not nothing, so I'll take it. Hopefully the front yard won't take too much out of me tomorrow and I can continue with the kitchen, because I am very close to having just drawers and upper cabinets left and that would (a) be a nice milestone and (b) make my kitchen a lot more usable than it has been for the last six weeks of whatever it's been.

Anyway, time to go out to dinner.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Vacuumed and mopped the first floor after my swim. It badly needed it. I'll tackle upstairs tomorrow.

Definitely kill with fire. That was an ita level link.

Wow, I just got a UPS delivery at 1 am on a Sunday morning. (Well, I guess it was UPS, someone knocked on my door and then left a package in front of it before I could get a robe on.)

Matt, was it from Amazon? We have random deliveries even very late of Amazon packages. Usually it's someone in a broken-ish down car and they just rap on the door, drop the package and leave. Especially for same day deliveries.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

It is kind of a lot of work, and takes a surpassing quantity of fruit/glass, when I squeeze my own.

Yeah, from what I've seen a surprising amount of fruit and veg goes into it. My co-op in college had a juicer and we'd make a lot of carrot and apple juice. Anyhoo the juice I had today was lemon, apple, carrot, beet, and ginger and it was really tasty. They have one with fennel, lemon, ginger, cucumber, and cider vinegar that I want to try.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have had packages from both Target and Amazon show up at some point between midnight and 7:00 am, even on the weekend. I think it is the new thing.

Also, Amazon won't let me buy the tamarind balls I want except as an add on item. It's annoying.

I've had a USPS contracted delivery dropped off at 6 am by a nonUSPS vehicle. All very odd. But you know what's weirder? My brother sometimes gets multiple USPS mail deliveries a day! And on Sunday! Mainly in the holiday season, but he says they often get Sunday mail. Bama's weird.
