If you need some cheering up, the #HAM4SOTU hashtag on Twitter is very amusing.
Best one so far: a picture of sad/frowny-face Paul Ryan, with the caption "...and Peggy."
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I had a cookie or two at work and some wine when I got home. one of our new 'interesting' people in the library didn't think i worked there. She was sure if I was a man or woman ( my first thought was that that was none of her business) but most amusingly she thought I was 'too pink' to work at the library.
One of the great mysteries of me about the SOTU is why do a response? Whatever you say will be overshadowed by the SOTU so it's just an opportunity to look bad with almost no upside. Just appear on some shows and make comments.
Somebody once upon a time got a lot of god publicity within the party for their response and now everybody is hoping it'll happen to them, is my understanding. Don't remember who or when that was, though. Or which party even.
I seriously need to stop reading my phone before I get out of bed in the morning. Looks like breakfast at my desk again.
You'd just think after Bobby Jindal's response speech nobody would want to do one ever again.
Well, I'd think no one would ever want to run for office, it looks like a nightmare, so clearly I can't judge.
I took 2 benedryl last night and I slept like a baby, but it is 11 am and I still feel like I am functioning through Jello! I won't do that again, although I find the loopy feeling somewhat pleasant.
If we took Bobby Jindal's embarrassing performances into account for everything, nobody would want to breathe because he's been seen doing it...
Good point, amych. There was a brief moment, before he was governor IIRC, but not, I think, as far back as high school, when he seemed like a reasonable guy who I could hope would be good for the state. Oh well.
Sophia, you probably need the rest!
Come to think of it, I think maybe I have successfully fought off the cold/whatever that was threatening yesterday - breathing freely this morning. Hot and sour soup ftw! And I only had about a cup, I'll have the rest for lunch today (or maybe lunch and dinner depending on how hungry I am at lunch time...)
Charlie Rose seems to be talking about Obama's SOTU in the context of Hamilton and George Washington's last SOTU. So far, no one has said "Everyone shall sit under their own vine and fig tree."
