I'm basically packed for tomorrow. Now there's a somewhat suspicious cat on my lap. He has the best cat sitters in the world catering to his every need over the next several days, but I still kinda wish I was in a position to have my family come to me. Eh, I like flying, and it's just five days.

Just like my last staycation, I'm getting sick. I'm gonna call my doctor this time because I don't want to end up in ER again. Stupid lungs taking their own vacation.

My friend who is home on hospice has had today dedicated to her by the City and County of San Francisco for her 40+ years of work as an advocate for children, child care, early education, and family support services. The proclamation has multiple Where As's and just made me cry to read the whole thing. Her family had early Christmas this last weekend and posted some pictures. At first look, she looks like the lady I knew but looking deeper, I can tell that her light is dimming.

Tommyrot, I suggest the hard catnip balls. Same reaction from the cat but less mess and they last longer.

Ah ha ha, just got a letter from my insurance plan that my therapist, as of Nov. 11, is no longer in their network.

I took extra vitamin C and used the neti pot and ate chocolate (that last part is courtesy of Tim, who 100% believes that if you feel an illness coming on, you should eat chocolate and it will prevent it; he never gets sick, so maybe he's right).

And now I'm going to bed, hoping to sleep it off.

I am going crazy trying to get everything done. I have decided that my big take away lesson from Tai Chi so far is: don't push so hard. This holiday season has of course reinforced how hard it is for me to learn that one.

Also, unrelatedly, I got new glasses and I love them, but there may be a problem with the progressive lenses. I think the reading part may be overcorrected, but I think I should try them out for a few days to make sure before I bring them in to get them fixed.

After working for a over a year at Lowe's I finally have a red vest. Still don't have an ID badge yet. I also turned on my corporate laptop for the 2nd time ever, but it couldn't connect to the corporate network so it is dead to me once again.

Also, I saw the trailer for Whisky Tango Foxtrot and it made me want to see the movie, but now I keep getting that exs and ohs song in my head something I now entirely blame on Tina Fey. I also saw the trailer for The Big Short and I want to see it too. I read the book and was pretty shocked that it actually got made into a movie. I have a secret hope that the movie will raise awareness of some of the hijinks that happened leading up to the great recession and maybe something happening to fix at least the, you know, outright fraud. Similar secret hopes are world peace, faster than light travel, and an affordable rocket boot.
