Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

How is it legal for someone to withhold money from your paycheck that you did not authorize?

I don't know. He emailed me back in December proposing the additional withholding and I emailed him back basically saying, "Why? Things are OK the way they are." That was it.

I think I'll ask my boss for a loan to make it through the month

Naps! Take all the naps, Dana. My weekend plans right now are napping and comfort TV marathons.

I'd make very very very sure the money went to withholdings and not some caribbean vacation fund or up the accountant's nose….

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Speaking of how do things happen, I apparently accidentally ordered a new laptop for my new hire, which wasn't in the departmental budget. I went back to see what I had done, and what I had written on the requisition form was: (desk currently has a desktop -- is there a laptop that could be used instead?) with no budget codes or anything! WTF, IT dude?

ION, apple pumpkin bread and ginger tea don't go together very well.

eta: OK, I think I oversteeped the tea.

Well I'm the only employee now at our business. Dunno what other clients he has.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's super weird, tommyrot.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Um, you're a single guy with no dependents. This shit is not complicated. I'm not sure what he thought he was trying to accomplish
