Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The wind picked up while I was on the train. When I got off my lack of long underwear was really noticeable.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm leaving for my 4 week post-broken-toe checkup! I'm seriously wondering if they'll even bother xraying. Hoping I'll be cleared to go back to regular shoes....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good news, Frank and Kat.

Not washing my hair is really my new favorite thing. I am grateful that my hair tends to be dry, because at least it never looks greasy. And sometimes looks best on day 3! (I am in no way prepared to no-poo it, though.)

Oh, sad news: Pete Seeger died. To be fair, he was 94, and he had a good long run. [link]

Stay warm, all you folks! Me, I'm huddled in sweats and my mom's cashmere sweater, although it's 55 degrees outside. Dear god, we Californians are spoiled.

Frank, getting moving after surgery can be one of the hardest thing. Hubby is an outlier on his willingness to get out of bed and move around after joint/spine surgery, but he's seen many people afraid to move.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I wash my hair twice a week, usually. It's due today, but I'm getting it cut this afternoon and I know she'll wash it and it just seemed like a waste to also wash it this morning. I'm sure it's actually fine, it just kind of feels like it needs washing, you know?

Yay for people recovering!

Sad for Pete Seeger.

OK, I have to tell someone this and that's what the invisible people in the box are for - it's my co-worker's birthday and I am actively fighting not to say "Oh, I'll always be able to remember when your birthday is because it's the day after my late husband's" because while that is true and kind of nice in my head (I irrationally like her slightly more now because, IDK, astrology?), I am pretty sure out loud it would be incredibly awkward and off putting.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Best news I've gotten in months (unless you count closing on the condo, which, while good, was such a "you have no other choice" sort of thing I felt resentful at the powers that be about it).

Less than a month ago he was making some extremely dispairing statements to the point of being suicidal from the sounds of it. The turnaround has been remarkable, but everyone including my brother is keeping expecations realistic.

Moving soon after surgery is apparently one of the big changes in medical rehabilitation. Used to be, after knee surgery, you'd rest it for weeks. Now they want you up and working the joint within a day after the surgery. Counter-intuitive, but apparently the results are much improved.

Good news, Frank. I hope it continues.

I have a really long to-do list today, but all I really want to do is cuddle on my futon and watch Festivids.

I'm glad things are improving, Frankenbuddha.

Good thoughts for your brother, Frank.
