I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I wash my hair twice a week, usually. It's due today, but I'm getting it cut this afternoon and I know she'll wash it and it just seemed like a waste to also wash it this morning. I'm sure it's actually fine, it just kind of feels like it needs washing, you know?

Yay for people recovering!

Sad for Pete Seeger.

OK, I have to tell someone this and that's what the invisible people in the box are for - it's my co-worker's birthday and I am actively fighting not to say "Oh, I'll always be able to remember when your birthday is because it's the day after my late husband's" because while that is true and kind of nice in my head (I irrationally like her slightly more now because, IDK, astrology?), I am pretty sure out loud it would be incredibly awkward and off putting.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Best news I've gotten in months (unless you count closing on the condo, which, while good, was such a "you have no other choice" sort of thing I felt resentful at the powers that be about it).

Less than a month ago he was making some extremely dispairing statements to the point of being suicidal from the sounds of it. The turnaround has been remarkable, but everyone including my brother is keeping expecations realistic.

Moving soon after surgery is apparently one of the big changes in medical rehabilitation. Used to be, after knee surgery, you'd rest it for weeks. Now they want you up and working the joint within a day after the surgery. Counter-intuitive, but apparently the results are much improved.

Good news, Frank. I hope it continues.

I have a really long to-do list today, but all I really want to do is cuddle on my futon and watch Festivids.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm glad things are improving, Frankenbuddha.

Good thoughts for your brother, Frank.

Seriously. All my mad cleaning energy from yesterday is gone.

WFH day two. Well, at least I'll be here to accept delivery of my Zappos order.

A friend had knee surgery last week and he is walking great. I would not have known he had surgery if he hadn't told me.

Meanwhile, I won't get to use my foot for a few weeks after surgery. Boooo.

I got a call from a place that is bringing over a "cold therapy machine" for my recovery. I thought I was getting a cast after surgery but maybe not. Will be interested to see what this turns out to be.

Tomorrow evening is Mama Mia with a friend. Can tomorrow be now?

My current dilemma: meeting ended early, so do I make lunch now when I'm not super hungry, or wait until my next meeting ends at 1pm when I undoubtedly shall be hangry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Can you do it halfsies? If I have a noon meeting, I'll eat half my lunch before and half after, if I have the chance.

I do enjoy my grandboss. I was just in talking to my boss, and he came in to say something to her officemate, shut the door, and opened with "Holy fuck, what was that??" Hee.

This everyone-shares-an-office thing is so weird, though. We close the door for confidential conversations, but there are often still unrelated people in the room!
