My latest musical repeat is ZZ Ward. Fits right in with the Adele run that came from several of her songs being the first few songs used by the aqua-fitness class that started as I finished my swim. Before that, Winehouse, Lana Del Rey, Lilly Allen, Rilo Kiley and KT Tunstell. I think I have a type for the past five years. But there is also Gaga, Gnarles Barkly, Katy Perry, Shakira, Rhianna and MIA. So, whatever.
Neighbor is getting her annual city roto-rootering. So far I've not had to suffer this fate, I think it is the tree in front of her house, but how my sewage pipes are not similarly compromised, I don't even know. She installed a streetside cleanout drain to the tune of 5K because if you do that, it is a free city service, not a $600 plumber call. My cleanout is inside. I pray for no roots or collapsed pipes.
And for the record, Kiss Ma Grits cheese grits reheated 14 hours later? Still as good.
Here, have a lovely ukelele cover of "Melancholy Hill."
Oh, nice! That's my favourite song from the album. The inclusion of a manatee may just be what puts it over the top.
By new music do you mean new genres or just new artists? Because I can think of lots of great artists that I didn't hear of before I turned 30, like Ani Di Franco, Beth Orton, Belle and Sebastian.
I am mad and can't say this on FB. So this long time friend, who is married, has been really chatty with me on FB lately. Not over the line flirting but just really...present. Then in the last conversation he was very flirty (think massage oil) and then he mentioned he was coming here and what was I doing mid-May. My answer "not fucking a married man but if you want to have coffee or something, great. Sorry for being so blunt but I don't want any misunderstandings".
My use of the f word was 100% intentional. And he totally flipped out about how he doesn't like that word and , to help me out, he would "give me a lesson on Guy101" which included not being so rude to someone who finds me interesting and wants to spend time with me. Which, how condescending! And totally proves that my response to him was not based on my imagination.
Whoa, Stephanie. That guy is a jerk, and good on you for being way clear about what you want and DON'T want from him!
Oh, Stephanie, how dare you not be thrilled that he finds you interesting! Thank god he offered to help you out.

Thanks- he had been a nice presence in FB before and the whole thing was sort of head spinning. There was also some comment about "I know you are in divorce counseling" as if, he was willing to cut me some slack because of that. The whole thing was just...yuck. I'm hoping to quietly defriend him or something like then in the next day or so.
