I know a smart early 20s woman (I am being all "make her unidentifiable on the internet" but if you know me, you likely know who she is) who does actually feel that pornography is cheating and thus adultery in marriage. I don't agree with her theologically, but I can see how she rationally and calmly came to her decision. And since she's upfront about it with men she dates, fair enough.
I've been watching MST3K episodes, so I'm filtering everything through an obscure and disquieting lens.
As is right and proper.
Awesome maintenance dude just stopped by and my light / ceiling fan contraption needs to be replaced - but it's not dangerous that the light flicks on then off, so until a new one comes in tomorrow or Wed, it's Studio 54 strobetastic here. Until I get bored. So maybe 90 seconds of strobetastic and then I use other lights that actually stay on.
Now I can actually nap. It might mess up my sleep but, gosh, I want a nap. It certainly can't make me less productive that not.
Question: do most people consider pornography use a form of infidelity? I don't see it that way, but if it's a commonly held belief, I don't want to quash her.
I've seen plenty of letters to advice columns written by women who feel that way.
And, on another note, I saw a woman in the grocery store, with a teenage boy, maybe 14 or so, who I'm pretty sure was her son. The mother was wearing a "Coach Paterno: Just one thing: Thank You" shirt.
I need, today, if you can find it, pix of: Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Rudy Guiliani, Rick Santorum, GHW Bush, Dan Quayle, Walter Mondale and.or Nelson Rockefeller drinking booze.
I'm pretty certain that no such pictures of Romney exist, since Mormons don't drink.
I think the idea that pornography is adultery is an incredibly sheltered one
I will also say that, yes, it's sheltered. But, in what I've seen of the world, so is no sex until marriage.
So I see it is sheltered and unlikely but I can accept it is what some people put value into as well.
So I followed one of ita's t shirt links this morning and now I have been kicked off my workstation for a malware infestation. Teefury is bad, apparently...
Timelies all!
Weather is weird again. 70 F after Thanksgiving? When it was in the 50s last week? I just don't know...
But, in what I've seen of the world, so is no sex until marriage.
However, I think no sex until marriage is okay as long as it's really only your penis or vagina it's important about. Porn as adultery is usually about someone else's "sex" life. But, if it's about your relationship, and it's a shared understanding, it's all good. It's when it's leveraged against an unwilling external party that I get pissy.
I wish I'd had lunch.
I wish my lien release had actually needed to be a lien release. Because then it would be resolved in 2-3 days, instead of the projected 2-3 weeks.

Seriously? That's wack, man.
Well, the teefury page never loaded and I had to use the task manager to close IE, and then Outlook stopped working...
Thanks all. I was just surprised by it and wondered if they had gone and changed the definition of infidelity on me. Glad to see that it was a case of student kinda right, me kinda right.

I hadn't thought of it from exactly that perspective. I think the porn issue is, if we're honest, about the masturbation assumed to follow or accompany the porn. Or the intentional viewing of a nekkid person one isn't supposed to be wanting to look at. It's not that porn exists, it is the utilization. Orgasms all unsanctioned by the relationship or church or whatever.
