Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Noah is adorbs in that helmet!

So we went to the pool and then came home and made chilaquiles for dinner. And then DH went and got fancy ice cream for dessert and brought it home. Sooo tired now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm slightly compelled (it's a complex sensation) by this Obos kickstarter. I think they're cool, but I don't have anywhere to put one without making my office desk into a forest of the weird. My apartment certainly doesn't need any more of that stuff.

I'm watching that episode of Spooks with the uranium, and it was a stressball.

After last nights stressy stress Supernatural, I'm questioning my life and my choices.

My sister fed me back gossip from the funeral. All sorts of inappropriate goings on in the family, some of it illegal, some of it multi-generational spouse stealing. Which might explain a couple issues.

The cousin that I hate read from her latest novel at her mother's funeral. It was not looked upon as appropriate.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I skated, worked, puppy wrangled in the yard while gardening, and then went out to dinner (Panda Express-I live a glamorous life) and saw "Thin Ice". not a great movie, but Billy Crudup was fantastic AS ALWAYS. I am now in bed with my iPad and just ate a piece of chocolate and feel ultra decadent.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Wow, our family funerals are never that interesting.

I don't really know what to make of the Obos thing. Except that it's really hard to play double reed instruments, which I know is completely unrelated, but there you are.

When a friend died after a long battle with AIDS, his former writing partner performed some sort of interpretive dance with a LIFESIZE bird puppet at his service. since she had done nothing and barely saw him during his illness because it "stressed her out" some of us were quite outraged.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

So there is a brilliant play in the story of a boy whose politician father is brutally and famously murdered in his own office, and then the boy goes on to become an actor and director, and, meaningfully, gay.

However, "Ghost Light", by Jonathon Moscone and Tony Taccone, now playing at Berkeley Rep, isn't it.

Too long, too many threads, too much extraneous material, and far too self indulgent. Should have been 30% shorter.

Ah, well, this is why I go for free.

Ah well. I'm impressed by all the theater you go to, though! I always think I should, and then worry I'll pay money to see something that bores me for three hours.

Speaking of things that bore for three hours...the date was not boring, but it was three hours long (I didn't realize that!). Amusingly, though we went to a place she'd never heard of, when we walked upstairs, there was a table of straight women, and one of them turned to her and was like "....Sara???". Turns out they went to college together. Oh, small world.

Anyway, date was pretty good, she did not seem that short (possibly she had magic shoes). Not sure if there will be a second one...she's kinda drama right now. I was her first OKCupid date, she's still breaking up with the mother of her child (though she said they live in separate places now), it's busy season at her work, etc etc. (These aren't really excuses she made, but things she said that make me go "hmm...")

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

You should check out some independent theater! It's cheaper AND shorter. And often better. And sometimes I'm in it, if you are here.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Most plays aren't three hours. 90 minutes with no intermission seems to be the popular trend for new plays.
