What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Washington state House of Representatives votes 55 to 43 to approve a bill to legalize same-sex marriage.

So that will make it state number seven! Plus D.C.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

A referendum would be complicated by the recent 9th circuit decision. Washington state is also under the ambit of the decision.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yay Washington state!

Well, slightly different than California in that here it was voted on by the legislature, rather than said from the courts that it's a constitutional right. But it looks like it would pass in a referendum anyway, so nobody is too worried.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just cried at work. I'm not even ashamed about it. We have a huge, high profile joint deployment this weekend, and the vendor (edit: the developer said to me, offhand...) said "Oh, we're going to migrate data centres in the middle of your deployment, mmkay?"

I told my manager, and laughed so hard telling the PM (he thought I was lying for a good 5-10 minutes, in order to rile him up) that I couldn't stop from crying.

I kept a straight face in front of the Director of Marketing (who owns the project), but she could see I had been agitated and the remnants of the tears, and gave me a hug.

Which, you know. But the sentiment was solid.

Moving data centres! In the *middle* of a deployment! No definite time on Saturday, either before the file import or after, depending on how things shake out Friday.

Director of Marketing called the vendor up, told them in no uncertain terms that it would not stand, and they're staying put for at least a few weeks.

But I still have that post-lacrimose feeling.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just hit myself in the head with the TV remote.

I think it's time to leave the house for a bit.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Nah, just too much time on the couch, I think.
