You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I've seen similar sorts of thinking around allowing men to volunteer in church nurseries. It makes me sad.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet weekend here. Gonna go to the library and bring my car to Jiffy Lube. Otherwise, DVDs, computer and DVR time.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesus, that's really sad.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There was a thing in io9 the other day about lost films--they mentioned Warhol's flim.

Bingo! That's where I got the idea. My brain is awful this week.

I tossed my tablet across the room and onto the floor in my last meeting. I'm so goddamned lucky that I only seem to have a 3mm scratch on the screen. Motherfucker.

Oh hey Nora, are you aware of Julie Klausner? She's hilarious, and on her podcast sometimes talks about cat awards, so I want to send her the clip, so (a) is that OK, and (b) do you want to do it yourself?

information libertarian

A Facebook friend of mine posted this exchange she had with her 5 year old:

ME: Frances, do you like any vegetables besides carrots? Have you had any vegetables at school, maybe, that you like?

FRANCES: Hmmm... Vegetables besides carrots that I like... Well, there's carrots... And I also like carrots... Oh! I almost forgot: carrots!

I can't think of a non-crazy way to explain to her why I find this so hysterical. But clearly, Frances likes carrots.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, Frances, you don't even know how awesome you are.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Frances really likes carrots. And sounds like she'll have a log in here in a decade or so.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I just did my taxes on H&R Block online, and they are so basic, I can't decide if I should spend the $55 to file with them or just fill out a paper form. Given that typing the info in took me maybe 20 minutes, I guess I'll do the paper and save the money. The good news is I'm getting a bunch of money back from the feds, and owe the state just a little. Sweet!
