So the SO's dad is home from the hospital, with compression socks and some exercises he's supposed to do to keep his blood pressure up, so they can medicate it down, so he doesn't pass out when he stands up. I'm not sure this is the right solution since he was in with a high blood pressure that wouldn't go down, but ok.

I think I may be forced to buy Mockingjay, since no one has the kindle edition. I assuaged myself with a library book, but now that I am riding the bus both ways, I can pretty much read one YA book a day and the library is limited.

I can also tell this is not going to be the best day-- I am overwhelmed by lots of piddly work, everything between my chest and my knees hurts, and somehow my scarf smells like yeast.

Nasty smell of the week - people were complaining that various Metro stations smelled of rotten fish. Turns out that Metro bought "organic" brake pads which, when used, smell like rotten fish. They bought something like 10,000 of them ... ew
