I have discovered this year that I'm the same way. It's a pity I've discovered this because we agreed not to put up a tree, due to the bundles of energy and chaos that are the babycats. I've been visiting other people's trees.
We've put a string of lights up on a stair railing. Not a lot of effort, and our cats enjoy it without messing with it (too much). Can't say the same for the garland, though.

Considering I just had to stop Vlad from climbing Miss Lucinda the dress form, even having lights on a railing is a Bad Idea.
But one of my friends just emailed me to tell me about a huge Christmas display they want to take me to see tomorrow night: Jack, Sally, Zero, Santa and the huge moon and curly hill.
Good grief. I certainly hope my vacation is not like y'all's vacations. Eek.
No. Shit.
BTW, I *started* my xmas shopping today. I went to the mall and I now feel an overwhelming sense of despair. Perhaps not coincidentally, I think I have an intense case of misanthropy. And of course I hate myself for shopping so late. Even better? I need to go to the mall TOMORROW because I just couldn't take it longer than 3 hours.

bonny,
I sent you an email yesterday, but I found your post in Beep Me to be really moving and just sad. Amazing you could put that all together during this terrible time.
I'm sorry.
Wowwww. They really are trying to kill my sinus infection with fire. I just had a mild freakout over the dosage + length of time I'm on this course of meds, because I (of course) had to google standard dosage. Someone tell me my dr. knows what he's doing?
Ginger, how long were you on anti-bs once they figured it out? If that's not too personal.
Thinking calm, happy thoughts about what it will be like to breathe and think and hear properly ... in late January.
Timelies all!
I'm so sorry, bonny.
Heading to Florida tomorrow, so I need to pack.
So I'm reading up on how Big Pharma has cured cancer in the 70s but won't release it because there's more money in chemo, and Big Pharma doesn't do cures. Are the same people that believe that the same people that believe vaccinations cause autism?
However, on the same site, is a fascinating page about the death of Paul McCartney. This is not a rumour I'd ever heard of, not having paid much attention to the Beatles ever. It's fascinating watching the same community (not sure if same people) that are believing in psychics and Big Pharma conspiracies believing in something else that *to me* looks to be completely unrelated. But I guess if you're credulous and a conspiracy nut, it's all more of the same.
I love how their forum allows you to thank a post, and then posts how many thanks you've given and received next to your name. What? Social capital? I don't believe it exists.
Paul Mccartney was killed by big pharma
should be a question, which opera mini won't do...

They sometimes overlap. They also don't seem to mind Big Alterna.
They don't see it as Big Alterna though. That's the thing I don't get. I mean companies and individuals are raking in big bucks because the treatments cost hundreds or thousands of dollars per treatment/dose. In some cases it costs more than conventional medicine, and yet it's not considered money grabbing or greedy where anything with "Big Pharma" is.
