I actually went to weekday Mass and said a prayer for her just a few minutes ago, Maria. So, no, you're not blinvisible, and she's getting well wishes and vibes in numerous denominations from all over the world.

I would absolutely say yes to a student who asked this.
I have done. (Our students pay per semester rather than per class, so it ends up somewhere between auditing and sitting in.) I was really pleased to be asked, and students who take that much initiative are usually the best attenders. I've also asked to do this a few times, and never been turned down.
