I suppose they could keep me on in contract status, but that would suck--the benefits are lousy, and being a contractor actually interferes with my ability to get shit done. I can't sign reports, I can't manage projects, and so forth.

I've been told that people in that position should just lie on their KSA and say "Yes, I have supervised doing all of those things" or whatever the highest level is, rather than be honest.
