Sir? I'd like you to take the helm, please. I need this man to tear all my clothes off.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

So far I think Pix is winning the weekend competition.

I'm certainly not giving her a run for the money although I plan on having a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Stretch class and hanging out with friends on Saturday--usually that turns into day-long playdate--and hope to see some other friends on Sunday. Oh, and spending the afternoon at SM beach.

The budget convo is a good reminder for me that we really need to create a budget and stick to it. I am not a big spender, but I'm bad at sticking to a budget too. I like my things, that's the problem.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, we need to get into better financial shape too, for sure. This summer should be a red flag for us. We gotta get back on the Dave Ramsey train. We lack gazelle-like focus.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

After stating that I need to start paying off my Mastercard, I just placed an Amazon order for my fall jacket ($15 cheaper than buying it from the vendor's website), a travel-size bottle of my perfume for my August trip to FL, and some blank dvds so I can get going on one of my summer projects, to finish burning all of my videotapes onto dvds and clear off some shelf space.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's 100 degrees here. The beach house has no air conditioning, because no one ever needs air conditioning in Maine. On the beach, there's a bit of a breeze, but there's also way more sun, so for now, staying inside with the fans seems like the best bet. Also, getting to the beach would require far more energy than I currently have.

Yeah I just bought a bunch of polish. heh. I have a friend who adores designer handbags, she convinced me that my splurges were completely acceptable, what with being $8 a pop and all. Of course, there's also the nice bath soap splurges, and the make up splurges, and the good coffee splurges, and the nice wine splurges. My splurges are cheap, but they are consumable, which means a week goes by and I need to buy more.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Skating tomorrow morning, then movies with friends tomorrow night. Sunday, getting up VEEEERY early to drive the DH to the airport. He is off to drive a motorcycle around Oregon for a week.

Rest of the week: watch many TiVoed episodes of Leverage and Criminal Minds.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am going to see Captain America tonight, and maybe tomorrow I can get my house in some sort of order.

I just carbon-dated myself to one of my co-workers. When he (Indian) asked me about cricket, I said I stopped watching before Brian Lara came on the field, and that I was a Viv Richards fangirl, and that I followed Somerset when Ian Botham played for them. Am old.

It's weird--the bonding I do with the Indian co-workers is entirely contingent on my life in the Commonwealth. Hell, not even that. Canada doesn't count. Only up to age 18. I'm surprised I remembered what team he played on.

Y'all don't understand how fly I feel with the Batman belt buckle. Fie upon the dress code.

Wow, it's looking more and more like the bombing and shooting in Oslo and Utøya are the work of a single Norwegian individual.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It's unbelievably horrible the more you hear about it.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Wow, it's looking more and more like the bombing and shooting in Oslo and Utøya are the work of a single Norwegian individual.

What, this guy drove the car up to the office building, set it off remotely, and then went to Utoya and started shooting? That's just horrifying.
