Yeah I just bought a bunch of polish. heh. I have a friend who adores designer handbags, she convinced me that my splurges were completely acceptable, what with being $8 a pop and all. Of course, there's also the nice bath soap splurges, and the make up splurges, and the good coffee splurges, and the nice wine splurges. My splurges are cheap, but they are consumable, which means a week goes by and I need to buy more.

Skating tomorrow morning, then movies with friends tomorrow night. Sunday, getting up VEEEERY early to drive the DH to the airport. He is off to drive a motorcycle around Oregon for a week.
Rest of the week: watch many TiVoed episodes of Leverage and Criminal Minds.
I am going to see Captain America tonight, and maybe tomorrow I can get my house in some sort of order.
I just carbon-dated myself to one of my co-workers. When he (Indian) asked me about cricket, I said I stopped watching before Brian Lara came on the field, and that I was a Viv Richards fangirl, and that I followed Somerset when Ian Botham played for them. Am old.
It's weird--the bonding I do with the Indian co-workers is entirely contingent on my life in the Commonwealth. Hell, not even that. Canada doesn't count. Only up to age 18. I'm surprised I remembered what team he played on.
Y'all don't understand how fly I feel with the Batman belt buckle. Fie upon the dress code.
Wow, it's looking more and more like the bombing and shooting in Oslo and Utøya are the work of a single Norwegian individual.
It's unbelievably horrible the more you hear about it.

What, this guy drove the car up to the office building, set it off remotely, and then went to Utoya and started shooting? That's just horrifying.
I think I'm worried that I'll end up spending more cash mailing the clothes to the winning bidder than I'll get from them in total.
Kathy, you charge for shipping and handling as well as the purchase price, most often, if that helps.
I had a very successful time of keeping cool -- haircut, errands, movies, shopping. I bought some shoes I'm on the fence about, but I can always return them (and I would, because I just bought them around the corner). I was going to do more grocery shopping than I did, but cat food was buy one, get one, and I already had the shoes to carry, so I'll make another trip for other heavy/bulky stuff later in the weekend.
Tomorrow, it's off to my uncle and aunt's to celebrate my grandmother's birthday -- oh crap, I forgot again to get her a card. Will I go back out tonight? Stay tuned!!
Sunday I don't know.
Also, it's supposably 102 here, but pretty pleasant in the apartment, thanks to leaving the a/c on all day. There was a guy in my haircutting place saying, "Yeah, I have an air conditioner, but I don't use it when I sleep." Opposite world! I pretty much only use mine when I sleep!
This level of heat is pretty much the only time I have the AC on if I'm not in the room. But it takes so long to cool back down if I turn it off, it's been on constantly the past two days.
I went to Starbuck's this morning, am going to the movies tonight and, other than that, have been in central A/C all day. It's just soupy out there.
I don't know, but I do know that from now on I will describe anything inexplicable as "probably just a coyote with mange."
Whereas I may just shout "FAIRIES!!" a la Matilda.
