OK, I guess I still don't really care about that. Isn't there usually dew in the mornings? Is that because the dewpoint becomes actual temp at some point overnight a lot of the time? I don't understand nature.

Yes. And you care because the hotter it is, the closer the dewpoint is to actual temp, the nastier it is for us humans.
